After such success as in pigeon racing your sure to come accross certain Champions and below you will read exactly what I mean.

Donacloney King has won – Best Young bird Winter Fayre 2003, BIS at Dublin and Edgarstown in 2004, 3rd Blackpool OC Flown 200 Mile in 2004, 1st Old Cocks Horseshoe 2005, BIS Dromore 2005, 2nd Kings Hall 2005, BIS Dromara 2006 and 1st T/W Racing Pigeon at Blackpool in 2006. All told he has won 21 x 1sts and many other cards.

Gemstone has won – 1st Young Hen flown at Dublin 2005, VHC at Larne YB Eyesign 2005, 4th YH Handled at Kings Hall 2005, 4th YB Eyesign Kings Hall 2005, 1st YB Handled Kings Hall 2005, Best YB Laurelvale 2005, 4th YB Eyesign at Horseshoe 2005, 3rd YB Handled Carrick 2005, Commended YB Eyesign Carrick 2005, 3rd OH Flown at Dublin 2006, VHC Kings Hall OH Handled 2006, 1st Blackpool OH Flown 200 Mile & BOS in 2007. Only had 4 Shows entered during 2006, the hen was kept for Blackpool and paid a big dividend.

Strain of the birds kept are Tod Hunter and Ismay Dordins crossed with Davy Mawhinney Soontjens and Albert Schumacher from Holland. His father Ivan kept him going in the right direction and he was the key to the continued success, wife Kiera has been involved looking after the stock from 2002 and results have improved up to and including Blackpool Show of the Year. Previously they had showed under the name I Mawhinney & Son but in 2004 that was changed to T & K Mawhinney. Since Blackpool they have received lots of kind messages and would like to thank everyone who sent congratulations, they themselves wish to thank Tod Hunter and Ismay and Donnelly Bros from Newry for their advice.

This year I plan to cover Section E as much as possible as I did with Section D last year, although with 20 odd Clubs in E  it will be some achievement to have all results in for publication by 9.00pm on a Sunday evening, it takes some time compiling all these for publication with the Racing Pigeon each Thursday to try and keep the news as fresh as possible and to be very honest the Editor and Staff  looked after me and indeed the NIPA last year very well and I trust they give me the same level of coverage this year on a weekly basis. Although this is never possible without the help of the club officials being able to make the result available to myself, to this I would ask for them to make contact with me at Ireland's Own Pigeon Auctions, 25 Knockmore Square, Lisburn Co.Antrim BT28 1SZ. Tele 028 92604778 or even better by email on celestiallofts@aol.com with some detail of the Club winer or even better a photograph.
