The Humberside trophy award

This year the humberside trophy celebrates its 49th year and again the presentation was a great success .With a very good turn out from the West, East and the North of the city, and not forgetting the members out of town, yet again was run extremely well with the help of the Real Workers :George Kay, Ray Butler, Ernie Boyson, the Shaw family and the Great Venue of the Hessle ex-service men's club also a big Thanks for the buffet they put on for us. Every year alongside the presentation is the Eyesign show that was well supported with over 50 pigeons entering. This years judge was the highly respected Jerry Parkin from the south of the Humber.Every year the presentation runs a young bird of the year trophy and the Humberside trophy is won by the most outstanding performance of a pigeon of the year old and young.And their was some outstanding results starting with the late Keven Shaw memorial trophy young bird of the year in 6th place with 3rd sleaford 19th open 26th fed/2nd sleaford 16th open 16th fed/3rd Huntindon/4th Haidstone &2nd Hastings went to V&A Colby &K Barker.In 5th place with 2nd club Huntindon 2nd fed&20th open went to Vick Wealsby.4th place with 1st club Huntindon 1st open 1st fed /2nd club Billericay 4th open 4th fed went to Vick Wealsby.In 3rd place with 3rd club Huntindon 5th fed 1st club billericay 3rd fed and 1st Maidstone 19th fed went to young Scot Stephenson &family.In 2nd place with 5th Billericay 44th fed 1st Maidstone 11th fed and 1st Lillers 1st fed went to Don the one Yates. And the winner of the young bird of the year with 1st club Sleaford 1st fed ,1st club Huntindon 2nd fed and 1st Hastings 57th fed went to Mick Mallison.The Late Norman Sewell ie the humberside trophy first started in 1961(i wasnt even born then) the 1st person to win the trophy 2 years on the trott went to Albert Ellis and the trophy was also won in 1987&1992 by the great Bob Longsdale and over the years theirs been some outstanding fanciers winning this trophy .And this year the results for the humberside is in 6th place with 8th club Eastbourn/88th sec Lessey mnfc/13th club/5th sec Alecon mnfc/8th club Clermont/1st club Clermont/3rd sec Tours mnfc went to K Kingston& Family. In 5th place with 1st club 1st fed 1st 2bird Hastings/1st club 28th fed 5th 2 bird from lillers/3rd club 14th fed reed/4th club 44th fed from billericay 8th club 51st fed huntingdon 13th club maidston went to mick mallinson. In 4th place with 10th club maidston 5th club 6th fed lillers 3rd club 3rd fed clarmont 2nd club 12th fed lillers 17th club billericay went to R. A. R. Burns brothers. In 3rd place with 1st club 1st fed from nevers also when to a r burns brothers. The runner up with 1st club 1st sec 1st fed billericay 1st club 4th open 4th fed claremont 1sclub 10th fed 26th open went to M. J. Weaver (silverfox) and this years winner off the humberside trophey with 5th club 28th fed 31st open from sleaford 1st club 5th fed 5th open reed 1st club 2nd fed 3rd open billericay 4th club maidston 1st club 9th fed 14th open hastings 1st club 2nd fed 5th open reed 1st club 9th fed 26th open billericay 9th club billericay went to the outstanding performance of V and A Colby and K Baker with a shalie cock C50917 They was a few suprizes this year and no one was so stunned than this years guest of honour John Ellerby(peanut) who does a great job in the federation was gob smacked when he won the Clarry Howson yorkshireman cup for service to the sport. His name goes along side some great names like Mick Spavin who was the 1st fancier to win the trophy in 1979 then the names kept flooding foward like/Mick Talor/ Ernie Boyson/ George Kay /last years winnier Syd Johnson so this is a honour to win.The eyesign show results the breeding class in 4th went to Lonney Elgy/3rd place went to Mick Murray/2nd place went to Vick Wealsby/and the winner went to the Driffield duo Mr Eric&Mrs Sue Blades. The racing class went to 4th place M Bunce/3rd place went to Eric&Sue Blades/2nd went to Barry Milburn/ and the winner went to V&A Colby& K Baker.Next year the humberside trophy will celerbrate its 50th birthday and with a big thanks to Billy Drayton of premier north road for sponsering the shaw.sales this year i am auctioning a few young bird sales. The Hull north road will be held at the trinity club on sunday 28 march/Premier north road 4th april at trinity club/fountain rd nr 27th march at the own headquaters/trininty flying club 21 march at trinity club/the joint sale with Endike/Kingston on 7th march at the Endike club/and the Ravenser is having their sale on 3rd march at the ravenser.I have finerly moved and got my loft up and would like to say a massive thanks to our kid Garry Hunter, Dean Armstrong ,Paul Thackeray &John Egan for the help putting my loft up,cheers lads.
