May I personally thank all the major cup and trophy winners for the past season 2009 including the Grosvenor club for winning the top club award . Also a special mention to the Fanciers Of The Year Joe & David Braniff , who retained their title for yet another season. These fanciers had another tremendous season and are worthy of the title for the work and effort that is given to the birds. These guys are 110% fanciers , really dedicated to the birds, devoting all their time and effort to help stay at the top. As most of you are aware this was my first season as press officer for the Ulster Federation, the oldest racing organization in Ireland , and I must admit that I really enjoyed each and every week reporting on the winners and getting around the lofts. The hospitality that I received each and every week from all fanciers concerned was terrific and I must thank you all for sparing me the time to report and handle a few winners as each and every week progressed. The Ulster Federation is based mostly around the Belfast area but one club that I must give special mention to is the Lisburn based Lagan Valley, the only club within the fed based outside of the city. This is a really competitive club and I must thank the members for their invite this past season as a special guest to their “fifty years on the go” birthday bash. I really enjoyed the night and as usual the hospitality that was given to myself was fit for a king. Again these guys leave no stone unturned and make you welcome no matter what the occasion . – Thanks again for a great night -
. Before finishing this weeks notes I would like to make a personal get well wish to one of the fancys top ambassadours of the sport Mr Lyndon Boyle from Dromore . Lyndon unfortunately has not been in the best of health over the past few weeks and may I wish on behalf of myself and all your fancier friends a speedy recovery and all good wishes . Lyndon has served the fancy greatly over the many years of his involvement in the sport at the highest level possible with great distinction and his wealth of knowledge within the sport is phenominal . – GET WELL SOON LYNDON -
