24th july 2010 the start of the young birds season with a great early start. with tony meek having the day off it was Bob White in the driving seat and he got the all clear to liberate 1300 birds at 06.30 am into a south west winds. the birds didn't hang around for long and soon headed for home, with every club having really good returns and some members nearly getting caught out. with the the birds romping back to the lofts, some members didn`t even have a chance to get a cup of tea before they were dropping in in batches.

The top ten: 1st, 2nd & 3rd M Dyer-Pier Towers 1535 1533 1533. 4th M Woollock- Hornsea nr 1532. 5th 6th 7th & 8th M Dyer - Pier Towers 1532 1532 1532 1532. 9th T&B Meek- Pier Towers 1525. 10th M Woollock Hornsea nr 1525.

FOUNTAIN RD. It was the fast Melderts of Jeff Donner taking 1st 2nd & 3rd all with 3 blue bar cocks. And it was old bird champ Colin Clark jnr taking 4th 5th & 6th with two blue cocks and a blue cheq hen, all Busschearts. 1450 1450 1449 1440 1436 1431 with good returns.

HORNSEA NR. One of those fanciers that got caught out was M Woollock but he still took the top three. his 1st was a blue pied hen jansen/busscheart, the next  was a blue bar cock van loon/ busscheart, and his 3rd was a bit of everything a dark cheq cock. 4th 5th & 6th went to the superb janssens. 1532 1525 1480 1430 1426 1414.

DRIFFIELD WOLD WAY. This week's winner went to E Potter & son taking the 1st & 2nd with two cheq cocks, R Rines took 3rd place with a cheq cock, E Potter & son took 4th & 5th with J W Hubbard in 6th place. 1008 968 862 817 773 687.

TRINITY FC. Donny McCracken had a pick of 17 pigeons when they all dropped together and took the top four places. his 1st was a Vanderwegen blue wf cock, his next three was a blue cock and 2 blue hens, all wildys, and it was DK Arnold in 5th & 6th place with two young birds bred from the Arthur Wellford bloodlines. 1396 1352 1340 1302 1300 1286.

PIER TOWERS. The top six places went to the supersonic pigeons of Mick Dyer. his 1st was a Vandewegan, a grandson from his famous German cock, the next was a cooremans cheq hen bred from the Premier stud, and next was a van dyck cheq hen taking all the pools. his next two were Koopmans and his 6th was a Herman blue hen. 1535 1533 1533 1532 1532 1532.

PREMIER FC. It was Billy Drayton who took the the top two places with a blue wf cock and a dark cheq hen both from his own Busschaert breed. 3rd place went to another busschaert man Graham Shaw with a blue bar hen. 4th place went to new member Shaun Smith with a blue cock bred from south road spiv Keith Gleeson. 5th place went to  Peter Coulson with a young busschaert hen and it was Shaun Smith taking the 6th card. 1416 1411 1410 1399 1382 1379.
