BROMFORD NORTH ROAD FLYING CLUB -
update 2010 season
at the meeting held at club h.q 2-2-2010 with a good turnout of members present it was agreed to continue to go with the coalville federation for old and young bird racing up to 200 miles.then to be transported by the north rd championship club to old bird dunbar,perth,frazerbourgh,thurso,plus young bird dunbar.being the only north rd club in the birmingham area the club appreciates the help we get from the ruddington club members and the coalville fed.
the members also agreed to hold the special races the same as last season
they then set the date and race points as follows.old bird horse and jockey on 8-5-2010from whitley bay.
the show race from scotch corner on 26th june 2020 young bird special ring races will be held on 14th august 2010 from aycliffe.
the horse and jockey will be 28th august 2010 from ripon.
after a discussion it was agreed that the club breeder buyer will be from scotch corner on the 4th sept 2010 with the main business over it was left to aunction the young birds brought in by mark collins for the breeder buyer race members can bring young birds in for the breeder buyer on meeting nights as the members feel this is better than having one on two set dates for the sale of young birds.
the old bird ring raffle has now finished for 2010 and with a total of £507.00 this being slightly more than 2009 season we are now on to the young bird ring raffle with shirley moore doing a marvellous job of running both the o/b and y/b ring raffles we are expecting the y/b total to exceed last years total.
john harvey then asked members to bring in their clocks for the three way test as soon as possible so it seems all members are gearing up for the 2010 season.
the bromford will be holding a young bird sale at club h/q on sunday 23rd may 2010 at the lad in the lane erdington.
there will also be a e.t.s.demo on the same day by unikon so any r.p.r.a.members are welcome to come along and buy a young bird or see the demo.
there will be a cash prize for the best result achieved by a young bird sold at the sale.
so far birds have been promised by rick and spiers of nottingham no strangers to winning races at club and fed level also prominent positions in the n.r.cc.crooks and mitchel of nottingham also getting first in the club and fed and good postions in the nrcc
mr & mrs f widdison only a small team flyer but excells at the distance in club and fed and n.r.cc.winning good open and section prizes.
paul skinner from the aston and district paul has had more than his faif share of winners at club and fed level over the years and has bred winners for other people fred evans the hard working secretary of the aston.
titch howitt from debyshire having won the club y/b averages with his svr in 2009 john thomas from west heath plus the bromford members.
mr & mrs keith brown with children or grandchildren out of his belgium family keith has had birds off e,coulemans of belgium
and had winners and bred winners out of them helping keith at the top[ of the club.
john and shirley moore have promised 2 y/b out of peanut their 7 times winner cock plus other prize cards.
jim hargreave,g.wilkes and partner,dave hewitt,ken oliver,d garnett & son with other club members plus fanciers from outside of the club still to confirm at this moment.
we have 26 birds promised and are confident there will be at least 40 birds on the day of the sale.
there will be a full sale list published near the date of sale.
