THE BB&O SOUTH ROAD FED by Ron & Angela Crook KINGSDOWN Steve & Paul Kulpa Top the Fed two weeks in a row Flown 20.04.08 114 Members sent 1515 Birds Caversham Steve and Paul Kulpa top their club and the Fed with a De Klak x Janssen two year old hen, the sire is bred by Hans Eijerkamp and a direct son of Bartoli, the dam is a direct daughter of The Lichte 05 again bred by Hans Eijerkamp. The hen has won previous and taken many positions in the club and Fed, velocity 1276 (1st Fed). Mr & Mrs Willis are 2nd club (11th Fed) followed by G & M Bicknell take 3rd with one of Gary’s own family of birds, the mother is one of Gary’s racers still going at 10 years old, velocity 1215 (13th Fed). Borough of Reading 9/136 Mr & Mrs Trevor Chard take 1st place with a home bred mealy hen on a velocity of 1257 plus 3rd Fed, Mr C Lewendon is 2nd with a home bred Janssen cock, velocity 1241 (4th Fed). S & K Clayton take 3rd with a chequer hen, velocity 1224 (9th Fed) Windsor 9/158 Mark Gilbert scores a hattrick with three cocks all yearlings, velocities 1218 (10th Fed) 1215 (12th Fed) and 1213 (17th Fed) Maidenhead 6/78 Smith & Neale top Maidenhead this race on a velocity of 1192 (23rd Fed) Mr G Meer & Son are 2nd and 3rd with velocities of 1151 and 1114. Tilehurst 4/41 A yearling hen flown on roundabout takes the red card for Cox and Fox on a velocity of 1112; they also take 3rd on 1100 with Mr D Terry and Son 2nd on velocity 1102. Shotover & District 10/112 D.S. and R Wiggins are 1st and 2nd at Shotover on velocities of 1152.949 and 1152.835, Mr & Mrs P Perks are 3rd on 1146. Village Ass 5/52 Mr A Hill and Son are 1st and 2nd, their birds are raced on roundabout, this is their 1st win in this club in 19 years of trying, young son Patrick who is 11 years old is delighted, well done to both of you Adrian and Patrick you are a credit to the sport, velocity 1067 and 1055. Mr & Mrs D Newman are 3rd on velocity 1044. Riverside Marlow 8/140 1st Gerry McIlhatton takes poll position in this race with one of his very good Staf Van Reets, this hen comes from Gerry’s old family of birds, velocity 1174 (30th Fed) Ross and Marianne Bolton are 2nd this week with a bird that has won two previous races, velocity 1142. Peter Rowland is 3rd with a bird from Simon O’Brien bloodlines, velocity 1142. Didcot & Hagbourne 8/97 Gordon Seeny is on fire at the moment he takes the first four places again this week but four yearling hens flown on roundabout, great flying Gordon, velocities 1133; 1132, 1128 & 1124. Lambert FC Brian Nettle tops Lambert again this week with the same bird that won last weeks race, velocity 1183 (26th Fed) Jim and Sonja Cody are 2nd with a bird that was 3rd last week, Brian also took 3rd place with the bird that was 2nd last week. Emmbrook 5/53 We have John Musselwhite topping Emmbrook and also taking 3rd place with velocities of 1098 and 1063. Mr & Mrs Hambleton and Daughter are 2nd on velocity 1075. Reading Premier 9/168 A natural flown bird takes 1st place for Mr & Mrs Dave Beasley and also a very nice 2nd Fed as well, velocity 1265, Kirk Hames is 2nd and 3rd on velocities 1236 (5th Fed) and 1234 (6th Fed) Convoyer's Report: Arrived on site at 04.30am watered birds 09.00 am – weather on site wet and overcast continuous rain throughout the day postponed race fed and watered birds. Sunny weather bright and sunny on site waited for weather to improve liberated 12.15pm.
