Steve & Paul Kulpa take the first 11 places from Wincanton 2094 birds into a strong South West Wind

Caversham 8/257

What a start for Steve and Paul Kulpa they take 16 of the first 30 places in the Fed. Their 1st Club; 1st Fed bird was a De Klak x Van Loon two year old hen a full sister to “68” winner of 2nd open NFC 2004. The dam is one of their original Van Loons, this hen has had loads of minor positions but this is her first win.

Velocity 2189 (1st Fed). The 2nd bird was a Meuleman x De Klak yearling hen, the sire is “Boulerouz bred by Hans Eijerkamp and is a direct son of The Marshal lines of De Generaal. The dam was bred by Steve and Paul and put to stock; she is a full sister to “07” 4x1st “46” 4x1st and “09” 3x1st she is again bred from the lines of The Generaal x their Meuleman line. Velocity 2187 (2nd Fed) with the 3rd bird being a De Klak x Janssen yearling cock which is a son of their No. 1 De Klak hen responsible for over 100x1st. The dam is bred by Ponderosa and is from the lines of The Wonderboys; this bird won 2x1st as a young bird and was beaten to 3rd club by two loft mates on another occasion. Velocity 2187.172 (3rd Fed)

Reading Premier 9/167

Ray and Rodney Beard take 1st; 2nd and 3rd at the Premier, their 1st bird is a Van Reet blue cock raced on widowhood, velocity 2114 (12th Fed) The 2nd and 3rd placed birds were also Van Reets raced on widowhood, Velocities 2109 (13th fed) and 2085 (21ST Fed)

Emmbrook 4/59

We have Mr D Fenwell taking 1st place at Emmbrook on a velocity of 2034; John Musselwhite is 2nd and 3rd on velocities of 2009 and 1992.

Lambert FC

Brian Nettle tops Lambert with a two year old cock bird out of Steve and Paul Kulpa’s birds it was sent natural sitting eggs, Brian was also 2nd again with a two year old Kulpa cock also sent sitting eggs. Jim and Sonja Cody were 3rd with a two year old Soonjen cock out of bloodlines of Alan Jenkins; this bird was driving to the nest. (sorry no velocities given)

Tilehurst 6/61

A roundabout cock takes the red card for Cox and Fox, this Red Fox Janssen, velocity 2090 (17th Fed) S & D Abery are 2nd and 3rd with velocities of 2089 (18th Fed) and 2081 (22nd Fed)

Shotover & District 16/225

D. S & R Wiggins take a very nice 1st and 2nd at Shotover, the winner is a three year old blue bar, velocity 2068 (29th Fed) 2nd birds velocity 2061. Mr D Bowler is 3rd on 2045.

Riverside Marlow RPC 8/139

Ross and Marianne Bolton are at it again they take 1st and 2nd club; the winner comes from their family of Janssens, velocities 2039 and 2037. Gerry McIlhatton is 3rd with one of his Staf Van Reets, velocity 1972.

Didcot & Hagbourne 10/172

Gordon Seeney had a very good season with his young birds last year and the same birds are flying fantastic as yearlings, he takes the first four places at Didcot with four cocks, his birds are flown on roundabout, this race it was four cocks doing the business, velocities 2094; 2092;2091 and 2085 (14th; 15th and 15th Fed). Great flying Gordon.

Maidenhead

Mr G Meer and Son are 1st and 2nd at Maidenhead on velocities 2026 and 1992; Smith and Neale are 3rd on 1979.

Windsor 13/281

Mark Gilbert is off to a good start, he tops his club on a velocity of 2044, and Johnny Haynes takes 2nd on 1982 with D Hughes 3rd on 1980.

Village Ass 6/60

Mr T Cozens takes the 1st and 2nd places at Village this week, both birds are raced on widowhood; the winner is a Braspennine, velocity 1912, 2nd bird’s velocity 1910. Mr & Mrs T.P. Mauger take 3rd on a velocity of 1838.

Borough of Reading 8/112

Father and Son team Steve and Kieron Clayton take 1st and 2nd places with a hen bird bred by Simon O’Brian, velocities 2076 (28th Fed) and 2057. Colin Lee is 3rd with a blue Janssen cock, velocity 2007.

Arrived on site at 02.30am watered birds 07.00am. – weather on site very windy waited for weather to warm up – liberated into bright blue skies with a strong southwest wind.
