HEDON & DISTRICT FLYING CLUB

2009 PRESENTATION NIGHT

Hedon held their presentation night at their club head-quarters at The Haven Arms Hedon on the 13th  November with all the members and guests sitting down to a three course meal and then after the presentation they enjoyed live music from a band. The guests of honour were Mr & Mrs Alec Dodson of Roos and Mr & Mrs Ted Crane of Hedon.

Highest prize winners were Paul and Helen Johnson with 7 x 1st 2 x 2nd 5 x 3rd 6 x 4th 6 x 5th  7 x 6th  and also taking the Old Bird Inland Average, Old Bird Channel averages  Old Bird averages, combined averages, Clermont 1, Arras 2, Young Bird Eastbourne, lowest Old Bird velocity, highest Young Bird velocity and lowest Young Bird vel. Runner up was Martin Weaver with 6 x 1st 6 x 2nd 6 x 3rd 5 x 4th 7 x 5th 4 x 6th and also combine points, Old Bird inland points, Old Bird channel points, Old Bird combine points, Clermont 2 and the best performance trophy. Third place went to Les Bennett and Graham Sparkes with 5 x 1st 5 x 2nd 5 x 3rd 5 x 4th 3 x 5th and 3 x 6th also taking the Young Bird average. They also took Young Bird Billeracy and the two longest Young Bird average, and the Young Bird points. Next was Chris Salter with 1 x 1st 5 x 2nd 2 x 3rd 2 x 4th 2 x 5th  5 x 6th, and the Bourges Trophy. Anthony Grantham had 3 x 1st 3 x 2nd 1 x 3rd 1 x 4th 3 x 5th 3 x 6th and the highest Old Bird velocity. W Carr and Son 2 x 1st 2 x 3rd 3 x 4th 1 x 5th 1 x 6th and Arras 1. Then Mr & Mrs D P Gray 2 x 2nd 2 x 3rd 1 x 5th.  F Barton & Son 1 x 2nd 1 x 4th and longest Old Bird two bird average. Mr & Mrs Lister 1 x 2nd 1 x 4th 2 x 5th  J Wright 1 x 1st  and A/F Sarel 1 x 3rd, 1 x 4th, 2 x 6th.

After the presentation the club presented Mrs Dodson and Mrs Crane with flowers also receiving flowers were Alison the landlady and Maureen the secretary’s partner and the clubs press officer. Congratulations Paul on your recent fiftieth birthday.
