YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE

Huntingdon - August 2012

Saturday the 18th of August and 4,000 birds were liberated at Huntingdon in a West South West wind and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Reg Wright of Patrington on 1728. Topping the North Section is Jess & Jen Hotham of Filey on 1646. Topping the West Section is Mick Burdett of Norton on 1533 Topping the Central Section is Kev & Julie Kingston of Hull on 1595. Well done everyone on a very hot day.

Coastal South Section:

 

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 4 members sent 149 birds with the red card and Second and Third and Fourth places going to Reg Wright on 1728 and 1727 1726 and 1726 with his family of pigeons.

Bridlington D.F.C. 14 members sent 298 birds with the red card going to Nathan Hoggard on 1651 with a Soontjen x Mellonby & Wheelhouse Vandenabeele. Second place went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1646 with a Premier Stud Hardy Kruger. Third place went to Jess & Jen Hotham on 1646 with a Marina Van De Velde. Fourth place went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1645 with a Kees Bosua.   

Bridlington D.R.P.C. 7 members sent 174 birds with the red card and Second place going to Steve Sellars on 1673 and 1654 with a pair of nest mate Vandenabeeles x Janssens. Third place went to Ellis & Foreman on 1652 with one of their Hofkens. Fourth place went to Steve Sellars on 1647 with a pure Janssen.

Flamborough Homing Society. 4 members sent 48 birds with the red card going to John Kemp on 1496 with a Mick Holdsworth of Flamboro gift bird. Second place went to Mick Holdsworth on 1454 with a Soontjen cock. Third place went to Mike Farnell on 1426 with a Mick Holdsworth gift bird. Second place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1651 with a Van Loon. Third place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1621 with a Premier Stud Reynaert. Fourth place went Paul & Helen Johnson on 1621 with a Jess Hotham Herman Ceuster.

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 123 birds with the red card going to Martin Dawson on 1666 with a Van Dyke from Doncaster. Second place went to Martin Dawson on 1659 with a Graham Hastie x Tony Meek. Third place went to David Beadle on 1655 with a Richard Visscher. Fourth place went to Mervin Hinchcliffe on 1605 with a Burgess Bros Houben.   

Hunmanby Homing Society. 8 members sent 173 birds with the red card going to John and Les Hill on 1615 with a Bussey & Chappel Busschaert x Janssen. Second Third and Fourth places went to Tony Robson on 1612, 1566 and 1561 all with Marina Van De Veldes.

Third place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 1614 with one bred out of Premier Stud racer. Fourth place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 1614 with a Premier stud Koopman x Vandenabeele. 

Whitby Premier Club. 13 members sent 341 birds with the red card going to S. Mallinson & Son on 1605 with a hen off directs Van Den Brande x Louis Thijns Herman Cuester. Second place went to S Mallinson & Son on 1605 with a Gert Heylen x direct Guido Barberien hen. Third place went to Alan Richardson on 1603 with a Louis Thijs Hereman Ceuster hen which was 1st Peterborough. Fourth place went to Alan Richardson on 1602 with a direct Marina Van de Velde hen. R. W. Winspear wins the pools.

Central Section:

Cottingham Homing Society. 6 members sent 159 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1595 with a Keith Gleeson Nauwelaert. Second Third and Fourth places all went to Kev Kingston & Family on 1566 1561 and 1559 with his family of National Motorway Breed. Kev & Julie had an excellent race having 50 birds back in 20 minutes.

Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1544 with a Beeverdam hen. Third place went to Petherbridge & Coates on 1532 with a well bred Goosen. Fourth place went to Petherbridge & Coates on 1529 with a Busschaert cock.                                        

North Hull Club. 4 members sent 42 birds with the red card for the second time going to Paul Jones on 1536 with a Jules Severay. Second place went to Paul Jones on 1517 with a Janssen. Third place went to Barry Kipling Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to D. Franciosy with a B. Kipling Brasspening x G. Cox.                               

Hull Millennium Club. 10 members sent 181 birds with the red card going to John and Pat Hall on 1579 with another of the exchange pigeons off Chris Boehen of Norwich keep up the training John. Second and Third place went to K & H Green on 1569 and 1563 with two of his Ark Family which must be the oldest family in the club and mut be just as hard to try and get some. Fourth place went to P. Stamford on 1562 with a youngster flying to a youngster in the nest.                               

Driffield Homing Society. 12 members sent 195 birds with the red card going to Sam Jackson on 1548 with a Clive Lister Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1537 with a Bob Mallinson Van Den Brante. Third place went to J & M Edeson on 1527 with a Marina Van De Velde. Fourth place went to Sam Jackson on 1515 with a Clive Lister Vandenabeele x Brian Levitt Hofken. Colin Sedman wins the y/b K.O                                                                                        

Little Weighton Club. 5 members sent 60 birds with the red card for the fourth time going to Tony Walker on 1565 with a Dick Cawthorn x Gary Cox fancied cock. Second place went to Les Pollard on 1528 with a Soontjen out of his old family. Third place went to Tony Walker on 1505 with a Brasspening x G. Cox Beverly breeder buyer. Fourth place went to tony Walker again on 1455 with a Braspening x G. Cox which won the first race.                                                                                            

East Hull Flying Club. 7 members sent 77 birds with the red card going to Norman Robinson of Bridlington on 1556 with a Kees Boshau x Vandenabeele. Second place went to A & K Marshall on 1556 off their winning Karel Boeckxs. Third place went to Justin Waters on 1530 with a Soontjen x Van Reet cock. Fourth place went to N. Robinson on 1526 with a Vandenabeele cock.

 

West Section:

 

Norton I. Flying Club. 16 members sent 293 birds with the red card going to Mick Burdett on 1533 with a Tony Edwards Janssen which was 3rd from Peterborough. Second place went to Brian Boyes on 1523 with a Soontjen. Third place went to Brian Boyes on 1523 with a Bill Shaw Van Reet. Fourth place went to R. Mort on 1517 with a Louis Van Leemputten.

Eastrington P. F. C. 8 members sent 146 birds with the red card going to Steve Neale on 1420 with an R & B Smith hen. Second place went to Steve Neale with a Phil Curtis hen these two birds are the same as last week. Third place went to Alan Beevers on 1371 with a Wild Kirby cock.  Fourth place went to Wardle & Hayward on 1343 with a Alan Beevers cock.

Haxby Flying Club. 4 members sent 128 birds with the red card and Second and Third places going to Pete Fannan on 1412 with his Janssen family also taking the £1 nom. Fourth place went to B & C Mason on 1360 with a Delbar.

Pocklington H. Society. 9 members sent 141 birds with the red card going to G. W Atkinson on 1490 with a Van Hove. Second place went to G W Atkinson on 1478 with a G. Acey bird. Third place went to G. W Atkinson on 1477 with a Van Hove x Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to T. Edwards on 1437 with a Janssen x Van Derhee. D. Carlton & Sons with the £1 nom.

Goole L.M.S.H.S. 17 members sent 395 birds with the red card going to M Brighton on 1485 with a self bred M & D Evans cock. Second place went to P & J Battersby on 1436 with a self bred cock from stock off M Brighton. Third place went to B & H Nicholls & Son on 1424 with a Janssen cock that was bred for them by a friend.
