YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE

BILLERICAY

Saturday the 3rd of May and once again over 4,300 birds were liberated at Billericay in an East South East wind, this time the West Section took most of the first 50 positions. Topping the Combine and the West Section is Deighton & Lister of York on 1893, Topping the Central Section is Moody & Turner of Hull on 1829. Topping the Coastal South Section is W. Carr & Son of Hedon on 1808 and topping the Coastal North Section is Sayers Bros of Loftus on 1833. This combine has a vast radius from Hull to Loftus and the East Coast to York and is an achievement to top the Combine or even the Sections.

  

Moody and Turner

Central Section:

Hull Millennium H. Society. 13 members sent 253 birds with the first four places going to Vic & Jenny Moody & Rebecca Turner on 1829, their first in the clock was a 4yr old Janssen x S & J Dickens Van Reet hen and the second bird was a Jan Arden x Cattrysse yearling widowhood cock on 1824. Their third was ayearling JanssenxS & J Dickens Van Reet Widowhood cock on 1817 and their last was a 2yr old Janssen widowhood cock 1811.

Hull Chalk Lane. 8 members sent 123 birds with the red card going to Petherbridge and Coates on 1818 with a multi prize winning Goosen cock. Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1807 with a Van den bosch cock which took third last year. Third place went to Petherbridge and Coates on 1793 with a Bushcheart cock. Fourth place went again to Petherbridge and Coates on 1781 with a Proctor Buschchaert cock which was first last week and also wins the pools and top bird.

North Hull Club. 16 members sent 217 birds with the red card going to race controller John Rawson on 1806 taking hat trick winner I. Mizon out of the top six. Second and third place went to yet again regular bridesmaid this season Mr Richie Crawford on 1791 and 1783 Fourth place went to give us a fag Eddie Lister on 1766.

Little Weighton Club. 8 members sent 108 birds with the red card going to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1764 with Superstar a multi prize winner also winning the Nom. Second place went to Les Pollard with a bird bred from his Salt Brothers of Kimberly Soontjens this bird having its first card. Third place went to Jacksons & Fletcher again on 1764 with Enigma who is Superstars nest mate also a multi winner. Fourth place went to Les Pollard again with another Salt Brothers of Kimberly Soontjen which is his best bird and has won loads of cards. These Soontjens won l0 firsts.

Cavalier Homing Society. 9 members sent 176 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hall on 1798 winning all the pools and ETB. Second place went to T Brown & Son on 1788 with the same pigeon that won from last weeks race.Third place went to J. F. Willstrop on 1772 Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs L Barker & Son on 1765 with a J R Willstrop breed and taking the same position as last week.

Dunswell Homing Society. 6 members sent 76 birds with the red card and the next three positions going to Mr & Mrs Brown on 1778 with one out of their old Reg Venner stock birds. Second Third and Fourth positions also went to Mr & Mrs Brown on 1761, 1743 and 1737 with their Hartogs which have all won before. Well done.

Coastal South Section:

Bridlington D.F.C. 11 members sent 202 birds with the red card going to Jess Hotham on 1817 with his good Vandenebeele x Van Loon cock making it five first so far. Second place went to Nathan Hoggard on 1807 with his very good Soontjen cock, also with five firsts to its credit including a red card this season. Third place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1800 with a Soontjen x Vandenebeele this bird has taken the pool in the 4 bird club for the last three weeks. Fourth place went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1793 with a Deighton and Lister Vandenebeele hen which has scored before well done to you all.

Bridlington D.R.P.C. 7 members sent 181 birds with the red card going to Ellis & Foreman on 1805 with a pigeon bred off a Bob Jackson 10yr old cock call Gran Canaria. Second place went to Ellis & Foreman on 1795 no details. Third place went to Sam Jackson on 1766no details. Fourth place went to Harry Smith on 1762 with a Hartog out of Steve Sellars stock. 

Withernsea & D.H.S. The red card went to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1752 with a Herman x Roland De Keyser called Houdini which won Clermont last year and has many other first and minor cards. Second place went to Alec & Margaret Dodson again on 1751 with another Herman x Roland De Keyser called Tyson as its always fighting. Third place went to Steve Turley on 1693 with a Gordon Cooper Van Hee. Fourth place went to Trevor Robinson on 1683 with a Jan Aarden x Stichelbaut.

Hornsea E.R.H.S. 6 members sent 153 birds with the red card going to Phil & June Edmonds on 1758 with a Hartog. Second place went to Phil & June Edmonds 1738 with a Mr & Mrs Brundle Soontjen. Third place went to Phil & June Edmonds 1731 with one of his Van Loons. Fourth place went yet again to Phil & June Edmonds 1718 with a Jan Aarden.

Hedon Flying Club. 12 members sent 263 birds with the red card going to A. Grantham on 1811 with a Tony Mardon Rene Nauweleart cock. Second place went to A Grantham again on 1810 with another of his Reven Nauwelearts of fed winners. Third and Fourth places went to W. Carr & Son on 1808 and 1807 with a pair of Van Elsacker /Soontjens off the Swallow tail. 

Flamborough Homing Society. Sent 84 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Jackson on 1694 with a Cattrysse cock. Second place went to Paul Lawson on 1693 with a hen from the stock loft. Third place went to J. Kemp on 1688 with a cock from his stock loft. Fourth place went to Mick Farnell on 1687 with a Verheye cock.

Bridlington Eastside. 4 members sent 68 birds with the red card going to Mick Horner on 1758 with a Busschaert cock, well done to your first win. Second place went to Norman Robinson on 1735 with a Grandson of Cowboy. Third place went again to Mick Horner on 1731 with a roundabout Busschaert hen. Fourth place went to Norman Robinson on 1722 with a multi prize winner.

Coastal North Section:

Whitby Premier Club. 15 members sent 285 birds with the red card going to Alan Richardson on 1825 with a yearling henflown sent sitting 3 day old eggs, she won a first from Sleaford last year as a young bird bred off a multi winner Guido Barberien on loan from Mallinson & Son x his Van Den Bosch family. Second place and keeping up their good form is Brian & Jason of Storr Bros & Son on 1823 with a 2 year old hen flown on the roundabout she is a Herman x Gervert Van Schoorise and has scored before. Third place went to S Mallinson & Son 1822 with a 2 year old widowhood cock he was bred by Roberts good friend Bill Halifax of Filey from his direct Gaston Van De Wouwer family. Fourth place went to Brian & Jason of Storr Bros & Son on 1816 with a 2 year old hen also flown on the roundabout and is bred by George Breckon also scored before. Brian and Jason and Robert share the pools.

Alan Richardson of Whitby

Filey Homing Society. 6 members sent 86 birds with the red card going to J. Gage & Son on 1802 with a Soontjen bred from K. Locker stock. Second place went to Mervin Hinchcliffe on 1801 with a Houben x Karel Boeckx bred by Burgess Bros. Third place went to Jess Hotham & Ruston on 1756 with a hen bred by Lucian Geerts Belgium and was 1st combine Peterboro last year. Fourth place went to Jess Hotham again on 1791 with one bred off Marina Van de Velde lines.

Western Section:

Acomb W.M.H.S. 20 members sent 394 with the red card going to Deighton & Lister on 1893 with a Vandenabeele cock bred from a pair which breed fed winners a direct Koen Minderhoud crossed with a Gaby hen. Second place went to J & G Cobb on 1887 with a bird bred from stock given to John by Ella Scaife. Third place went to B & P Craven on 1862 with an Adrie Vandheree bird. Fourth place went to Deighton & Lister again on 1856 with a Vandenabeele hen.

Haxby Flying Club. 9 members sent 192 birds with the red card going to I. Willis on 1850 with a yearling Van Loon x Silver Shadow widowhood cock. Second place went to T. Bradshaw on 1846 with one of his Belgium hens. Third place went to B & C Mason on 1845 with a Jimmy Barker Van Loon. Fourth place went again to B & C Mason on 1843 with a Janssen cock.

Norton I. Flying Club. 15 members sent 281 birds with the red card going to Ron Stockdale on 1868 with a Soontjen x Flor Engels widowhood cock this pigeon has stacked up a few firsts and many other places. Second place went to Brian Greenley on 1843 with a De Klak widowhood cock, Brian always does better as the distance increases. Third place went to Derek Vickers on 1837 with a full brother to Mick Burdetts Leemputten 66. that topped the gya. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Hodgson on 1831 no details.

Eastrington Rose & Crown. 10 members sent 185 birds with the red card going to Mike Shipley on 1832 with a G. Atkinson Van Hove x Alan Plews of Middlesboro. widowhood cock which also wins the nom and the Hagstons Butchers meat nom. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hagston & Family on 1830 with a Pete Beadle Soontjen x Mike Kirby of Howden. Third place went to G. W. Atkinson on 1817 with a consistent Van Hove widowhood cock. Fourth place went yet again to Mr & Mrs Hagston & Family on 1799 with a Les Stevens Fabry x Pete Beadle Soontjen.

Pocklington H. Society. 10 members sent 161 birds with the red card going to S. Etherington on 1787 with a Grizzle Delbar cross. Second place went to Mr & Mrs R. Brumby on 1782 with a Staf Van Reet. Third place went again to Mr & Mrs R. Brumby on 1772 with a Herman x Staf Van Reet. Fourth place went to J. Suggitt & Son on 1770 with a Le Faby which won three times last year.

Burton Lane Club. 8 members sent 89 birds with the red card going to E. Harris on 1834 with a Busschaert. Second place went to D. Beamson on 1834 also with a Busschaert. Third place went to P. Calpin on 1813 with a Marcelis. Fourth place went to E. Harris again on 1805 with another Busschaert.
