When John McGee raced his pigeons in the UK he was one of the fanciers to beat no matter what the distance and what the competition. John won many races including 1st Open National Flying Club Pau plus many other top 100 positions in the Nationals. These birds have won so many prizes they could not list them all but they have had over 400 x 1st with this family.

Auctioneer’s Note
Before moving overseas to run a one loft race, flying in the south of England the Janssen based birds flown by John & Lou were very hard to beat. They are bred around the brilliant WOUTERS COCK, who bred winners from 50 miles right through to 1st Open National Flying Club Pau. They truly are a great family of racers that can win anywhere, as they are now also proving in France. Come and buy some of these and you will not be disappointed. They are TRIED AND TESTED JANSSEN WINNERS AT ANY ONE DAY DISTANCE!!
A Note from John & Lou
We moved to Northern France in February 2007 to set up a one loft race for Barcelona (see www.thebarcelonachallenge.com). There is much speculation at the moment as to whether other fanciers can hold a torch to the Belgians. We believe that there are many great English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh fanciers out there who have birds more than capable of flying the Barcelona International with the best of the best but, because of unfavourable locations, they can not enter this prestigious race…Until now!! We are also now going to be running, in conjunction with The Barcelona Challenge, a young bird race. This will start in 2011 and we will accept pigeons in January and February. They will have 4 races, then the final race will be most probably Limoges 316 miles with the ALC-CALC club, where they will be racing against 10,000 + birds. Full details will be available shortly. As you can imagine, this will be a full time job so we are cutting back on our own birds and will just keep a small team for the International races.
With this family of Janssen-based pigeons, we have had over 400 First Prize wins, around 100 First Feds, a National winner, a LSECC winner, a BICC winner, Combine winners and Open race winners.
Since racing in FRANCE we have clocked these Janssens on the day from Perpignan & Pau Internationals in 2009 & 2010. From Perpignan in 2009 we were 147th National 2685 birds, 1233rd International 18,354 birds, also 573rd National 3056th International. From Pau 2009: 33rd National 1523 birds 76th International 7608 birds, 177th National 345th International. Perpignan 2010: 280th National 2639 birds (we don’t have the International result yet); this hen also won the club racing from Issoire, taking 325th Combine 8688 birds.
Here is a bit about some of our foundation birds.
