Lot 17. Alan Partridge. Alan says: "I consider it is a pleasure to donate to this worthy cause. I am not a big team flyer and in 2005 I obtained three pairs of stock birds from Woodland Farm Stud these being the Carrera/Vandenabeele lines. I think at the time Martin Mitchell was moving to Belgium and they were closing the stud. In 2006 I bred from these birds and one of them was 30621. In 2007 I kept the pairings the same and bred 07732. Both being blue cocks. The reason for the explanation is that in 2008 I had a quadruple heart bypass, then in May I was told that I had throat cancer which needed an operation and treatment at Christies. Thankfully I have made a good recovery and now have the all clear. After these hiccups I decided that I would cut down my workload and part with my stock birds. A friend of mine was trying to raise funds for Egremont Rangers Junior Rugby Club and I contacted Bill Southward to see if he could sell these Belgian rung birds and donate the proceeds to the fund. These birds were sold so I sent them to Egremont along with the pedigrees etc, but unfortunately I never took any copies of the paper work. I have ring numbers of the sire and dam and no other papers. If it would be of interest, the buyer could have the choice of a pigeon off sire 1 or 2. The 2010 performances of the sire number 1, GB06A30621, are as follows: 26/6/10 Messac 1st Denton HS 32 birds, 1st Oldham Fed 50/355, 1st Border Amal 94/705, 1st Lancs Combine 119/924, 2nd Three Counties Combine 512/3416. Sire 2, GB07D07732, from NFC St Malo 2010 won 62nd Open 8809 birds, 7th section L 1167 birds. I sent him to the race "Help The Heroes" charity race with the BBC from Fougeres where he gained 6th open 1st NW section from 2161 birds being the furthest flyer.

Lot 38. Brian Littlewood is donating one from his BBC section winner from Bordeaux. GB10T42268 Blue Cock or GB10T42269 Blue Chequer Pied. Sire 08N93987 Dark Cock. This Chequer Jan Theelan cock was bred off a pair gifted to me by Ron Hillcoat of Halifax. Ronnie acquired these pigeons from an old fancier in Holland who was a very good friend of Jan Theelan. At the time Ronnie could not use these pigeons and asked me if I would like the pair. 93987 has, in my opinion, a great future. He was my 3rd pigeon from Poitiers flying 482mls arriving at 21.39.19, a fantastic achievement on the day. He then went on to achieve 1st section E 27th Open in the British Barcelona Club from Bordeaux, a distance of almost 590mls clocked at 8.50am next morning. Dam 07N94603. This Florizoone blue hen is unique in the fact that she has flown Tarbes 708mls with the National FC and is still only 3yrs old. The Florizoones are a much sort after breed throughout Europe. I acquired this breed from my good friend Tony Merrick of Cumbria. I think Tony was the very first British man to become a personal friend of the great man. Florizoone achieved the title Mr Barcelona because ho not only won it but he rarely sent more than 6 pigeons. This year’s Tarbes with the National FC was considered one of the worst races of all time. 94603 was my 1st pigeon. The above two pigeons paired up when the sire returned from Bordeaux and have produced 2 young birds numbered above. The new owner may choose one of the young birds numbered above.
