Good Evening all. What a hectic day!! John basketed all the Barcelona yearlings and bought them upstairs one by one so that we could register them onto the French race clock. This should be done at the club but our first race this weekend they managed to miss some birds. Our first bird back to the loft wasn`t on the clock. Luckily it was a bird of ours but we're still gutted as she was 9 minutes in front of any other, so to save this occuring it is far safer for me to load them onto the race clock. Time consuming but I don't mind that as at least there is no panic that birds may have been missed and I know it has all been done properly.
TONIGHT`S TRAINER. I took the yearlings only 10 miles to get them started and they were released by section, Hens first then Cocks, 10 minutes apart Hens. 17.10 Cocks, 17.20 Hens, 17.30 Cocks 17.40. Obviously we don't handle the birds but doing what we had to do today we did. John said the condition of the birds is excellent,they handle really well. We Ivermectined them at the same time. Don't panic, ALL the 140 birds are back, although John has modified the tunnels they are still jumping in on top of each other so again back to the drawing board!!! We will train ALL the birds again tomorrow. I`ll stop off on a short toss for the yearlings then on for 40 miles for the 2 yr olds. Will mail tomorrow - Lou.
