ROBERT LANGRISH "Nab View Lofts"
Hi, I’m Bob Langrish. My home is with wife Ann of 34 years and we live in Chorley, Lancashire. Most of you will not know me so here is a brief introduction on the racing pigeons that I have had in the past and now race to my back garden lofts. Pigeons have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting with garden fantails before moving on to showing Medenas and Birmingham Rollers, when literally thousands of cards were won. I was very interested in the breeding side and still am, breeding many winners for others. The start in racing pigeons came in 1976 when I married Ann. The birds I had in those days were the very successful Paul Faucconiers direct and also from Stuart Blake of Flixton. I also had the Van Hees from Louella although the Faucconiers were by far my best pigeons. At the end of this introduction I have included an old article from around 1984/85 - when I had hair! As with most businessmen, the pigeons had to go in 1984 while I concentrated on building up my Landscape Gardening business. I then started again in 2000, winning straight away, but due to pressure of work they went yet again. I was missing the pigeons so in 2005 they were once again in my back garden. This is when I saw the Pouw pigeons and how well they had done. I personally believe that these birds are as good as the original Faucconiers that I had. These pigeons went on to win in club, fed and National racing. I still have the blood of those originals and with their success I purchased 12 more direct from the lofts of Pouw Bros. I have children of the actual big winners plus brothers and sisters to big winners and top breeders. For the distance I have birds direct from the top winning National loft of Peter Hagland and these are the famous Grizzles. I have also brought in direct birds of Van-de-Velden, Battenburg/Van De Merwe for up to 700 miles. For the sprint-to-middle-distance events I introduced the lines of the famous North West partnership of Wall, Lunt & Green. These include a direct son of their famous “Grey Gem”, winner of 41 x 1sts including 18 x 1st feds, plus a daughter of Piet Valk’s "Jantje"; she is a top breeding hen. We also have a pair of Vandenabeeles that have bred winners. My intentions are to cross some of the Pouw Bros stock with those of Wall, Lunt & Green and I shall also cross my distance birds, all being for my own race team. However, I will also be re-pairing individual families back together with stock birds in mind for the future. All the stock birds that I have were selected by myself for type, feather, temperament and more importantly, winning genes, which is of paramount importance. These are the qualities that I look for when pairing the birds, best to the best. Over the course of the next few months I will be adding the pedigrees to this site so that you can see the lines that I am breeding to. By arrangement I can also pair selected birds from my stock loft to breed your stock birds of the future. I really do enjoy breeding race winners and stock birds for other fanciers who have the same aim as I do with the pigeons - and that is to win. If you need any further information please e-mail or contact me on the numbers provided. Yours in sport Bob Langrish
