I have based this line on the pigeons of Batenburg/Van De Merwe, a partnership made up of the son of Batenburg who married the daughter of Van de Merwe, and they have obtained the very best of those two lofts to compete in distance racing. I also have pigeons from the lofts of other top distance fanciers including Charles Van De Velde and H. Wijnands & Son.
