The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation at Kingsdown

 

Saturday September 7th and The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Kingsdown for their young bird federation special race. The pigeons were liberated at 11-00 in a north west wind. In Osmaston Park Homing Society 13 members sent 173 birds. Taking the top two positions with a cheq w/f hen taking the red card doing 1255 was Mick Stone with a b/w/f hen doing 1253 in second. In third was Pat Tillson with a pencil hen doing 1248 followed by Dave Waddington in fourth with a cheq cock doing 1240.

In Holbrook 4 members sent 39 birds with D & A Swift making a clean sweep taking the first four positions. Their winner was a b/pied hen doing1250 followed by a b/w/f cock doing 1242.9 then a blue hen doing 1242.7 then a cheq hen doing 1208.

In Etwall & District flying Club 7 members sent 64 birds with A. Peach & Son get a podium finish taking the first three positions. The first two were both cheq cocks with the winner doing 1192 and their second pigeon doing 1164, this was followed by a blue cock doing 1159.In fourth was Mr & Mrs A.J.Whitehurst  with a blue cock doing 1158.
