DERBY NOTES

Saturday September 14th and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Carentan for their final young bird race which was also their federation special race with 36 members sending 322 birds. The pigeons were liberated at 08-45 in a east north east wind. Woodhouse members dominated taking eight of the first ten positions with congratulations going to Mr & Mrs A Jackson on topping the fed with a blue hen doing 1454.2 with their next pigeon doing 1424.8 taking fifth. In second, fourth & sixth was G. Jones & B. Proctor with two blue hens doing 1447.4,1435.1 and their third pigeon doing 1421.6.Third went to B & C Brelesford & Son with a blue hen doing 1443.6.In seventh & tenth was Selston member S & K Purdy with two blue cheq hens doing 1406.5 & 1389.0. In eighth & ninth was Woodhouse members D & A Cundy doing 1390.0 & 1389.5.

 

 

Club News.

Woodhouse winners were Mr & Mrs A Jackson with a blue hen doing 1454.2 ( fed topper ) with G. Jones & B. Proctor with two blue hens doing 1447.4,1435.1 in second & fourth with B & C Brelesford & Son in third with a blue hen doing 1443.6.

S & K Purdy took the top two in Selston with two blue hens doing 1406.5 & 1389.0 followed by Monty Buxton in third & fourth with a cheq hen doing 1376.9 and a blue cock doing 1376.6.

In Kilburn B & S Stone came out on top with a pied cock taking the red card doing 1388.0 followed by a blue hen taking third doing 814.2. In second was Keith Foulke with a dark hen doing 1289.1 followed by Stuart Wainwright in fourth doing 771.2.

Poolsbrook winners were Jepson & Bennett with a cheq hen doing 1360.1taking top spot followed by a blue cock doing 1300.2 taking third. In second & fourth were S. Tongue & Orme with two cheq hens doing 1334.4 & 1298.8. D. Poole got the winner in Railway Inn North with a blue cock doing 1311.3 with V. Derricott & T. Poole taking the next three with three blue hens doing 1260.3,1250.9 & 1242.1. 

 

 

T & H Garner took the red card in Park with a blue hen doing 1189.6.

 

 

Taking the red card in South Normanton was R. Coope with a blue hen doing 1075.6 with J. Hendy taking the next two with a blue hen doing 1060.9 and a red hen doing  1051.7.

 

 

Storey Arms winner was J. Barker with a blue cock doing 1057.1 and a blue hen doing 689.8 in third. In second was P.J Freeman with a cheq hen doing 883.6.
