The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Carentan for the first of their federation special races with the pigeons being basketed Thursday and were liberated Sunday 09-06-2019 at 07-15 with no wind given.

 

Dave Waddington Osmaston Park Homing Society winner from Carentan.

 

In Osmaston Park Homing Society sixteen members sent 124 birds with Dave Waddington getting the red card with a four year old cheq cock doing 1405 with Mick Stone in second with two year old blue cock doing 1377.In third with a three year old cheq hen doing 1375 were Paul & Lynda Todd followed by S & H W Hall in fourth with a three year old blue hen doing 1356.

 

 

In Holbrook four members sent twenty one birds and taking the top two positions was Ron Grant with two three year old blue hens doing 1370 & 1357.In third was B & S Stone with a yearling blue hen doing 1275 with T. Jennings in fourth with a four year old blue hen doing 1100.

 

 

 Steve Billings who done the double in  Etwall & District Flying Club.

 

In Etwall & District Flying Club five members sent 34 birds with Steve Billings coming out on top with a five year old mealy cock doing 1301 followed by Sam Phillips in second with a yearling mealy cock doing 1194.In third was P & S Harrison with a two year old cheq hen doing 1187 with A. Peach & Son in fourth with a three year old cheq hen doing 1160.

 

 

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation & The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation both decided to put basketing back twenty-four hours due to the bad weather forecast for Saturday 8th June.

 

 

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation held an inland race from Yeovil with the pigeons being liberated at 08-45 in a light south west wind.

 

 

In Holbrook seven members sent 103 birds with K. Paddock getting the red card with a yearling cheq hen doing 1746 followed by a three-year-old blue cock doing 1721 taking fourth. In second was D & A Swift with a yearling black hen doing 1743 followed by T Jennings in third with a yearling cheq hen doing 1738.

 

 

Mick Fearn Osmaston Park Homing Society winner from Yeovil.

 

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 18 members sent 173 birds with Mick Fearn getting the red card with a three year old cheq hen doing 1731.In second were John & Steve Hicks doing 1724 with a three year old blue cock followed by Dave Waddington in third with a yearling cheq cock doing 1722 followed by Paul & Lynda Todd in fourth with a  two year old cheq cock doing 1720.

 

 

In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve Billings made it a double by winning this one as well with a two year old blue cock doing 1695.7.In second was Sam Phillips doing 1693 with a yearling blue hen followed by Mr & Mrs Tony & June Whitehurst with a three year old mealy cock doing 1686 with fourth going to Mr & Mrs A Houldsworth with a two year old blue cock doing 1676.

 

 

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Salisbury and the pigeons were liberated at 07-15 with no wind given.

 

Keith Cresswell Kilburn winner from Salisbury.

 

In Kilburn six members sent 135 birds with Keith Cresswell taking the first three, with three yearling blue hens having their first race of the season doing 1567,1564 & 1555.In fourth was Keith Foulke with a yearling red cock doing 1522.
