DERBY NOTES

Saturday June 22nd and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation held the second of their federation special races with the pigeons being liberated at Fougeres at 06-30 with no wind given. Getting back to back wins in Osmaston Park Homing Society where 13 members sent 83 birds was Paul & Lynda Todd with a three-year-old cheq hen doing 1443 taking the red card. In second with a three year old cheq cock doing 1436 was John & David Coote with Mick Stone taking third & fourth with a two year old blue cock doing 1431 and a yearling blue cock doing 1425.

In Etwall & District Flying club where 6 members sent 36 birds The inform loft of A. Peach & Son came out on top with a yearling blue cock doing 1414 taking the red card and a yearling cheq cock doing 1389 taking fourth. In second was Sam Phillips with a two year old mealy cock doing 1412 followed by P & S Harrison in third with a two year old cheq hen doing 1403.

 

Alan Peach Etwall & District Flying Club winner from Fougeres & Yeovil.

Kilburn were at Marlborough with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation where six members sent 105 birds. The pigeons were liberated at 07-30 with no wind given. Getting the red card with a two-year-old blue cock doing 1442, also taking fourth with a yearling blue hen was Keith Cresswell. In second was Stuart Wainwright with a yearling blue hen doing 1436 with Keith Foulke in third with a three-year-old blue cock doing 1428.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held a inland race from Yeovil and the pigeons were liberated at 08-45 in a light south east wind. In Osmaston Park Homing Society 15 members sent 149 birds and taking top spot with a three-year-old b/pied cock doing 1558 was John & Steve Hicks. In second with a two year old blue cock doing 1529.8 was Paul & Lynda Todd with Dave Waddington taking third & fourth with a yearling cheq cock doing 1529.2 and a four year old cheq cock doing 1528.

In Holbrook seven members sent 115 birds with Trevor Jennings taking three of the first positions with. His winner was a yearling cheq hen doing 1550 followed by a two year old b/pied hen doing 1538 and a two year old red hen doing 1536.In second was  D & A Swift doing 1542 with a yearling blue hen.

 

  

In Etwall & District Flying Club 11 members sent 118 birds with A. Peach & Son coming out on top with a two year old blue hen doing 1542 with Alan & Liz Houldsworth taking the next three  with two x two year old blue cocks doing 1534 & 1533 and a three year old blue cock doing 1527.
