Osmaston Park Homing Society Prize Presentation 2017


Saturday December 9th was the date for the Osmaston Park Homing Society Presentation evening which was held at their club headquarters The Jubilee Club in Chaddesden. Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was Stewart Sparks. Club secretary Steve Stone gave a short speech thanking everyone for all the hard work they had done over the season which makes the club run very efficiently and with a secretary like Steve the club can only go forward. He then opened the proceedings by asking Stewart to present the prizes.
First up to the table with 108 points and top prize winner for the 2017 season was Mick Stone who has had yet again another fantastic season winning 8x1sts,2x2nds,5x3rds,3x4ths & 17 minor cards, Highest prize winner trophy, Old bird inland average trophy, Carentan cup, Young bird average trophy, Ken Hall memorial cup, Bird of the year cup, GB 17 X 17551 winning 2x1sts club plus topping the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation twice, once with GB 17 X 17551 and once with old birds. with prize money of £239.60, Gold ring race money of £195, Show Race money of £90 making a total of £524.60.

Next up with 84 points was Dave Waddington winning 5x1sts,4x2nds,4x3rds,3x4ths & 5 minor cards winning prize money of £184.80, Gold ring race money of £5 Breeder buyer money of £114 and show race money of £95 making a total of £398.80.

Dave Glew came next with 59 points winning 1x1st,4x2nds,4x3rds,2x4ths plus 11 minor cards winning prize money of £134.80, Gold ring Race money of £67.50 making a total of £202.30.

John & Steve Hicks came next with 55 points winning 2x1sts,2x2nds,2x3rds,5x4ths plus 4 minor cards with prize money of £112.20, Show race money of £45 making a total of £157.20.

Next came hard working secretary Steve Stone with 13 points winning 1x2nd,1x4th plus two minor cards with prize money of £26.40, Gold Ring Race money £97.50, Show Race money £70 winning the breeder/buyer race £133 and the breeder buyer trophy with total winnings of £326.90.

Jake Harcup came next with 10 points winning 1x1st,1x4th & there minor cards plus the Fourgers cup winning prize money of £22.80, Gold ring race money £22.50 with total winnings of £45.30.

Next came Derek Ford with 10 points winning 1x2nd,1x4th plus 1 minor card winning prize money of £22.

Mick Willis & Family came next with 10 points winning 1x2nd,1x4th & 1 minor card with prize money of £18.60, Show race money of £35 & Gold ring race money of £22.50 totalling £76.10.

The members would like to thank Steve Stone (Secretary ) for all the hard work he has done. Also, Stewart Sparks for doing a first-class job presenting the prizes. There was a well-supported raffle with plenty of prizes which was a nice little earner with the proceeds going into 2018 club funds.

Total pay-out for the 2017 season was £2464.00.
