Saturday June 1st and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Portsmouth where 72 members sent 1437 birds which were liberated at 08-00 in a light north west wind. Congratulations to John & Pamela Dowd on topping the fed and getting their first red card in their new club (Selston).Their winner was a yearling blue cock doing 1428.4.In second & seventh was Railway Inn North members D. Poole who had two yearling blue cocks doing 1428.44 & 1422.9.Third & fourth positions went to Selston member D. Hadfield with two yearling cocks doing 1427.2,1427.1.Woodhouse member S. Carder took fifth & sixth with two yearlings doing 1425.1 & 1425.0.B & C Brelsford & Son Woodhouse took eighth with a yearling doing 1422 followed by   P. Rimmington & I Wright Woodhouse in ninth & tenth with a yearling doing 1421.3 and a two year old doing 1421.1.

John & Pamela Dowd Selston top  the south section with a yearling blue cock doing 1428.479 ( Fed Topper ) followed by club mates D. Hadfield in second third & sixth with three yearling cocks doing 1427.2,1427.1 & 1392.5.In fourth & fifth were F & T Salt Brothers & Son with two yearling  cocks doing 1397.6 & 1392.8.

 

 

North section.

 

Taking first & fourth north section were Railway Inn North members D. Poole who had two yearling blue cocks doing 1428.44 & 1422.9.In second & third was Woodhouse member S. Carder with two yearlings doing 1425.1 & 1425.0. with fellow Woodhouse members B & C Brelsford & Son in fifth with a yearling doing 1422.0 and P. Rimmington & I Wright in sixth with a yearling doing 1421.3.

 

 

Club News.

 

In Selston John & Pamela Dowd open their account with their first win in their new with a yearling blue cock doing 1428.47 (Fed Topper) Congratulations to you both. Taking the next three was D. Hadfield with three yearling cocks doing 1427.2,1427.1 & 1392.5.

 

 

In Railway Inn North, D. Poole took the first two positions with two yearling blue cocks doing 1428.44 & 1422.9.In third was V. Derricott & T. Poole with a two year old blue hen doing 1410.6.

 

 

In Woodhouse S. Carder took the top two positions with two yearlings doing 1425.1 & 1425.0. followed by B & C Brelsford & Son in third doing 1422 and P. Rimmington & I. Wright in fourth with a yearling doing 1421.3.

 

 

In Park Broughtons Geelan & Goodwin took top spot with a yearling blue cock doing 1401.9 followed by a two-year-old blue pied hen doing 1391.0 taking fourth. In second was T & H Garner & Morton with a yearling cheq hen doing 1396.3 followed by D Weston & Cox with a three-year-old hen doing 1394.3 in third.

 

 

In Railway Inn South F & T Salt Brothers & Son took the first two positions with a yearling blue hen doing 1397.6 taking the red card followed by a yearling cheq cock doing 1392.8 in second. In third was Parry & Ellis with a yearling blue cock doing 1387.9.

 

 

In Poolsbrook Jepson & Bennett took the top two spots with a yearling cheq cock doing 1394.2 taking the red card followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1384.4 taking second. In third & fourth was M & L Herbert. Their first pigeon was a two-year-old blue hen doing 1369.4 followed by a yearling cheq cock doing 1366.7.

 

 

In Swallownest T. Bussey took first & fourth with a two-year-old cheq hen doing 1384.4 taking the red card and a two-year-old cheq cock doing 1364.2 in fourth. In second was D. Trow with a yearling blue cock doing 1371.2 with Overton Rimmington & Wright in third with a three-year-old cheq hen doing 1368.2.

 

 

In South Normanton R. Coope were first & second with two yearling blue cocks doing 1380.0 & 1362.7.In third was R. Black with a yearling blue cock doing 1333.2. followed by F & M Groom in fourth with a three-year-old dark cheq cock doing 1325.6.

 

 

In Storey Arms J. Barker gets back to winning ways with two yearling cocks taking the first two positions doing 1376.0 & 1322.0 followed by K.J Walker (last week’s winner) in third with a yearling blue cock doing 1321.0 with Abd Spiby in fourth doing 1306.2 with a five year old grizzle cock.

 

 

 

In Kilburn Club K. Foulke gets the winner with a yearling blue hen doing 1315.8 taking the red card. In second & fourth was Stuart Wainwright with two yearling  hens doing 1303.4 and 1288.9.In third with a two year old blue hen doing 1292.9 was L. Hall & Parkin.
