BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

BACK TO BACK WINS FOR CLIVE YATES AS “5G” ADDS KINGSDOWN TO HIS BLANDFORD WIN.

SATURDAY JUNE 1ST SAW 126 MEMBERS ENTER 2045 BIRDS TO THE SECOND KINGSDOWN RACE OF THE 2019 SEASON, ANOTHER EXCELLENT TURNOUT. THE PIGEONS HAD A HELPING WIND FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON, A LIGHT S.E. AT THE RACEPOINT, CHANGING TO A LIGHT S.S.W. EN ROUTE. ALYS CUT THE STRINGS AT 10-00 AND THE LEADING BIRDS MADE LIGHT WORK OF THE FLIGHT HOME. AS WITH MOST WEST COUNTRY RACEPOINTS, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE BIRDS WERE HIT BY PEREGRINES ON THEIR WAY HOME. THIS CAUSED SOME GAPPY TIMES; LATE BIRDS; AND OF COURSE, INJURED AND MISSING BIRDS?
