FAST AND FURIOUS OUT OF YEOVIL, SWIFT BY NAME AND NATURE, D & A SWIFT OF HOLBROOK TAKE 1-2 FED

 

SATURDAY AUGUST 31ST SAW 79 MEMBERS ENTER 1289 BIRDS FOR THE RACE OUT OF YEOVIL. THE BIRDS WERE LIBERATED AT 08-00 IN A STRONG S.S.W. WIND AND THEY CERTAINLY MOTORED HOME, WITH MANY AS EXPECTED OVER SHOOTING THEIR LOFTS. CONGRATULATIONS TO D & A SWIFT OF THE HOLBROOK CLUB, THEY TOOK 1ST; 2ND; 4TH; 5TH; AND 6TH FED ON 1946; 1945; 1944.8; 1940; 1937; BRILLIANT FLYING LADS. THE HOLBROOK CLUB HAD A FIELD DAY, TAKING 9 OUT OF THE TOP 10 WITH ROB PEARSON TAKING 7TH; 8TH; 9TH; AND 10TH FED ON 1935; 1932; 1931.7; 1931.5. THE ODD ONE OUT WAS MR & MRS JIM WHITEHOUSE & SON OF HILL RIDWARE, THEY WERE 3RD FED ON 1944.8 WITH A STAF VAN REET HEN. TWO CLUBS COMPLETELY DOMINATED THE RESULT, HOLBROOK TAKING 11 AND HILL RIDWARE TAKING 9 OF THE TOP 20 POSITIONS.

HE WAS FOLLOWED BY A LEO HEREMANS COCK OFF”EURO” LINES; AND A CWL DRAPA / HEREMANS HENS, AGAIN “MISS MAGIC” LINES. SPLITTING THE PARKERS TRIO WAS PHIL WHETTON IN 2ND SPOT ON 1889 WITH A LAMBRECHT X VANDENABEELE COCK.

 

 

AT THE NELSON, 9 SENT 212 AND THE HARTSHORNE LOFTS OF DAVIS, WRIGHT & SONS CAME OUT ON TOP ON 1854 WITH A VAN REET X VANDENABEELE HEN. THE SIRE IS A SON OF “MARSHALL” A MULTIPLE TOP TEN FED PRIZEWINNER, THIS COCK BROKE HIS WING AS A YB AND WAS PUT STRAIGHT INTO THE STOCK LOFT.THE DAM IS  OUT OF A FULL BROTHER TO “31616”, THIS HEN IS A WINNER OF 3 X 1ST PLUS OTHER PRIZES. MR & MRS TREVOR COLLINS & SON FILLED THE NEXT THREE SPOTS ON 1834; 1833; 1807; THE FIRST A BORDER LOFTS STEFAAN LAMBRECHT HEN; FOLLOWED BY TWO LAMBRECHT COCKS.

 

 

 

AT SWADLINCOTE TOWN, 11 SENT 158 AND MELV WILLIS WON A TIGHT FINISH ON 1836 WITH A SLATEY WILDEMEERSCH HEN, SHE WAS NOMINATED IN THE CLUB AND ALSO WON THE YB KNOCKOUT CUP, NICE ONE MELV. MR & MRS TREVOR COLLINS & SON AGAIN FILL THE NEXT THREE SPOTS, ON 1834; 1833(2); WITH A BLUE WF VAN REET; A  CHEQ STEFAAN LAMBRECHT FROM BORDER LOFT STOCK AND A CHEQ LAMBRECHT, ALL COCKS. GOOD DAYS RACING TREVOR AND GARY, GETTING THEM INTO FORM FOR KINGSDOWN?

DOWN AT BIRCH COPPICE, 2 SENT 38 AND ROB HORTON TOOK THE TOP FOUR WITH HIS VAN DEN BULCK ON 1808; 1801; 1800; 1754.

 

 

AT WINSHILL, 4 SENT 43 AND JIM & MATT PARKER WERE 1ST & 4TH ON 1854; 1610; THE WINNER A CWL DRAPA / HEREMANS COCK, THIS GRANDSON OF “THOR” AND “SHELBY” WAS 2ND THE WEEK BEFORE AND FIRST THE WEEK BEFORE THAT. PAUL & MAUREEN STRINGER WERE 2ND CLUB ON 1843 WITH A JANSENNE COCK; AND JIMMY OTTEWELL WAS 3RD ON 1753 WITH A CAMPHIUS COCK.

 

 

AT ETWALL, 9 SENT 96 AND STEVE BILLINGS TOOK THE TOP THREE ON 1849; 1811; 1807; SAM PHILLIPS WAS 4TH ON 1805.

 

 

OVER AT HILL RIDWARE, 9 SENT 171 AND MR & MRS JIM WHITEHOUSE & SON WERE WINNERS ON 1944 WITH A STAF VAN REET FROM JOHN SHEASBY & LEE FLETCHER STOCK.  C. LEADBEATER & SONS WERE RUNNERS UP ON 1929 WITH A KURT & RAF PLATTEEUW; D.
