YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This week the race from Arras on the 1st of July was liberated in a West North West wind turning Westerly on route. Topping the Combine and the South Section is John & Linda Chadwick of Bridlington on 1080. Topping the North Section is Colin Smith of Filey on 1066. Topping the Central Section is P. Woodmansey of Driffield on 1048. Topping the West Section is Brian Ford & Sons of Norton on 1000. Well done John & Linda and everyone on the result.

Coastal South Section:

Flamborough Homing Society. 7 members sent 120 birds with the red card going to John & Linda Chadwick on 1080 with a Van Dyke x Veenstra many card and was 5th Boves. Second place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1009 with an Albert Derwa was 1st Boves and won as a young bird. Third place went to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles 994 with an Albert Derwa. Fourth place went to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 956 with a Gaston Van de Wouwer won as a baby.

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 4 members sent 99 birds with the red card going to Shane Reading on 1070 with the same Soontjen that won another hard race from Battle which was the 5th race of the season. Second place went to ever present Derek Nicholls on 1032 with another of his Hereman Ceusters. Third place went to Shane Reading on 982 with another of his Soontjens. Fourth place went to Derek Nicholls on 976 with a Rauwe Sablon cock that was 7th Combine from Boves 2 weeks ago.

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 65 birds with the red card going to Alec Dodson on 964 with a John Rawson x Phil Curtis pigeon. Second and Third and Fourth places going to Pete Davenport on 940 837 and 678.

Bridlington D.F.C. 3 members sent 43 birds with the red card and second and fourth places going to Harry Smith on 950 919 and 889. Third place went to went to Mr & Mrs Sellars on 910.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 6 members sent 87 birds with the red card and Fourth place going to Gavin Leahy on 1044 and 977 with his Clive Lister birds. Second and Third places went to Phil & June Edmonds on 994 and 979 with their family of Vandenabeels.

 

Coastal North Section:

Filey Homing Society. 3 members sent 22 birds with the red card going to Colin Smith on 1066 with a Gaby Vandenabeele hen which has won before. Second place went to Colin Smith on 922 with a Leo Heremans hen which has had a 1st this year. Third place went to Colin Smith again on 790 with a Bryan Maude hen which has won before. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 766

Hunmanby Homing Society. 4 members sent 54 birds with the red card going to Tony Robson on 803 with a Marina Van de Velde. Second place went to John Robson on 766. Third and Fourth places went to A. C. Fox & Simpkin on 662 and 657

Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 50 birds with the red card going to Pete Thorpe on 827 with a prize winning Cattrysse x Jan Aarden. Second place went to on Pete Thorpe on 826 with a prize winning Peter Virtue x Jan Aarden which scored at Clermont last year. Third place went to Martin Wood on 780 with a Mark Evans Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to Martin Wood on 698 with a Rietveld.

Whitby Premier Club. 7 members sent 48 birds with the red card going to Alan Richardson on 1021 with his multi winning yearling Louis Thijs x R.P.R.A winner sitting 5 day eggs.  Second place went to Brian Storr Bros & Son Jason on 1016 with a yearling hen. Third place went to J. Noble & Son Mark on 987 with a self bred Roundabout Jess Hotham Poorvliet x Leo Heremans. Fourth place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 985 with a 2yr old direct Louis Thijs hen. Storr Bros & Son win the pools.

 

Central Section:

Driffield Homing Society. 5 members sent 50 birds with the red card going to Paul Woodmansey on 1048 with a 2yr old cock which was 4th from Boves and nighted out at the 1st boves race. Second place went to Pete Dixon on 1033 with a 2yr old late ray bell x Petes own stock and it has had a 2nd Boves and 3rd Billericay Third place went to Paul Woodmansey on 508 with a 2yr old cock which was 2nd Peterborough and 2nd Boves and Pauls birds are Bob Mallinson and they win the nom and meat nom. Fourth place went to Colin Sedman on 452 with a 3yr old gift bird off P. Woodmansey.

North Hull Club. 6 members sent 29 birds with the red card going to C. Wood & son on 926 with a R. Crawford Van Reet that won Boves. Second place went to Vic Walsh on 734 with a Dave Franciosy gift bird. Third place went to P & A Burke on 682 with a Van Reet taking its first card. Fourth place went to Barry Kipling on 633 with a R. Crawford Van Reet.

Kingston Flying Club. 4 members sent 28 birds with the red card going to E. Barnes on 1004 with a 3yr old Hereman Ceuster which has scored before. Second place went to Billy Drayton on 997 with a Busschaert. Third place went to Andy Hunter on 500 with a Koopman x Jos Thorn. Fourth place went to Andy Hunter on 481 with a Koopman.

Little Weighton Club. members sent  birds with the red card and Second place going to Jacksons & Fletcher on 851 and 549 with a pair of his Scottish lines and winning the pint. Third and Fourth places went to Bob Lonsdale on 404 and 392 with his distance birds.

Walton Priory Club. 6 members sent 32 birds with the red card going to M. Foster on 1009 with a 2yr old Fred Davies Vandenabeele pooled. Second place went to G. Block on 875 with a Steve Sutton Busschaert. Third place went to M. Foster on 875 with a Fred Davies Vandenabeele. Fourth place went G. Block with a Steve Sutton Busschaert.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 9 members sent 82 birds with the red card going to Bri Rowson on 995 Second place went to T. Tasker on 969 Third and Fourth places went to P C Carmichael on 941 and 940.

Hull Millennium Club. 7 members sent 82 birds with the red card going to Mark Taylor on 966 Second place went to Alan Stone & Son on 954. Third place went to K. Stamford on 947. Fourth place went to K & H Green on 934.

Cottingham Homing Society. 5 members sent 28 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston & Family on 919 with a John Rawson bird which has scored in club and National. Second place went to George & George Smith on 588 with a Hereman Ceuster continuing his run of form. Third place went to Graham Howman on 566 with a De Klak x Pau. Wawne Ferry Club. 6 members sent 34 birds with the red card going to Ollett & S&D Daniels on 833 with a Southwell. Second place went to A. Hajduk on 753 with a Staf Van Reet. Third and Fourth places went to M. Szifer on 741 and 724 with a pair of Koopmans.

West Section

Eastrington P. F. C. 6 members sent 53 birds with the red card going to George Atkinson on 942 with a Van Hove out of his old stuff. Second place went to John Pickering on 922 with a self bred from Steve Neale x Winnie Hagston stock. Third place went to Mike Shipley on 915 with a Brasspenning gift bird off Wardle & Hayward which has already had 2 x 2nds Boves this year. Fourth place went to Mike Shipley again with a cross.

Norton I. Flying Club. 10 members sent 98 birds with the red card going to B. Ford & Sons on 1000 with a multi card winning Hereman Ceuster x Janssen. Second place went to M. Hodgson on 984 with a J. Hotham cock. Third place went to S. Taylor on 971 with a Foxwood Lofts Geerinckx. Fourth place went to R. Burdett on 923 with a Frank Sheader Soontjen.

Kirbymoorside F. Club. 7 members sent 72 birds with the red card going to Howard Jackson on 944 with a yearling. Second place went to Howard Jackson on 936 with a R & B Smith from Burton Wood. Third and Fourth places went to Albert Tateson on 912 and 900 with a pair of self bred Leemputtens.
