YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This weeks race from Boves on the 27TH of May was liberated in a South East wind. Topping the Combine and the South Section is Derek Nicholls of Partrington on 1789. Topping the West Section is Albert Tateson off Kirbymoorside on 1625. Topping the North Section is Derek Howard & Paddy Johnson off Scarborough on 1614. Topping the Central Section is C. Wood & Son of Hull on 1610.  Well done everyone!

Coastal South Section:

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 4 members sent 89 birds with the red card going to Derek Nicholls on 1789 with a yearling Geerinckx cock which had 3 races as a young bird and won three Combine prizes. Second place went to Derek Nicholls on 1671 with a multi prize winning Gaston Van de Wouwer. Third place went to Derek Nicholls on 1659 with a yearling Rauwe Sablon. Fourth place went to Derek Nicholls again on 1647 with a yearling Albert Derwa hen.

Withernsea Homing Society. 7 members sent 81 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1713 with a late bred Hereman Ceuster hen. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1674 with a Vissches x Reynaert late bred hen. Third place went to Pete Davenport on 1510 with a self bred D. Beadle Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place going to Tony Meek on 1506 with a Vandenabeele cock.

Flamborough Homing Society. 9 members sent 127 birds with the red card going to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1699 with a Hereman Ceuster hen which has scored before. Second place went to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1698 with a Hereman Ceuster won Combine as a young bird and has scored this year. Third place went to Gray & Atkin on 1632 with a Vassier x Soontjen which has scored before. Fourth place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1630 with a multi prize winning Sablon x Van Dyke.

Bridlington D.F.C. 4 members sent 45 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places going to Harry Smith on 1588, 1464, 1359 and 1347.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 5 members sent 83 birds with the red card and Second Third places going to Gavin Leahy on 1654, 1515 and 1415 with his Clive Lister pigeons. Fourth place went to Barry Blenkinsop on 1414.

 

Coastal North Section:

Filey Homing Society. 3 members sent 28 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1610 with a multi prize winning R & A Evans hen. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1418 with a Jason Buckle of Stowmarket. Third place went to Colin Smith on 1394 with a Gaby Vandenabeele hen. Fourth place went to Colin Smith on 1356 with a Gaby Vandenabeele hen which was 1st Clermont last year.

Hunmanby Homing Society.  4 members sent 36 birds with the red card and Third place going to A & C Fox & Simpkin on 1578 and 1325. Second place went to Tony Robson on 1492 with a Marina Van de Velde. Fourth place went to John & Les Hill on 1243 with a Flor Engels x Busschaert which has scored before.

Scarborough Social Club. 8 members sent 57 birds with the red card going to Derek Howard and Paddy Johnson on 1614 with a 2yr old Willie Dollinger of Gosforth.  Second place went to Howard and Paddy Johnson on 1463 with a yearling Keith & Matthew Arkless cock Third place went to Roger Grundy on 1424 with a yearling Jan Aarden from the House of Arms. Fourth place went to Pete Thorpe on 1335 with a 3yr old Peter Virtue x Jan Aarden.

Whitby Premier Club. 6 members sent 46 birds with the red card for 4th time going to Alan Richardson on 1592 with a yearling hen self bred from his RPRA one loft winner. Second place went to J. Storr & Son on 1589 with a 2yr old roundabout hen off Brian & Jason Storr sending his small entry of 3 birds, she had a 2nd over the water last year. Third place went to Brian Storr Bros & Son Jason on 1566 with a 6yr old roundabout hen bred by Atkinson & Perkins of Billingham which has had cards inland and over the water. Fourth place went to Brian Storr Bros & Son Alan on 1384 with a 2yr old roundabout hen bred by Ken Monks of Rotherham which has had minor cards before J. Storr & Son Alan wins the pools.

 

Central Section:

North Hull Club. 3 members sent 17 birds with the red card going to C. Wood & Son on 1610 with a Jos Thone Wildemeersch which won Battle and was 2nd last week. Second place went to C. Wood & Son on 1314 with a Brasspenning Van Hee x Martindale which won Clermont. Third and Fourth place went to Barry Kipling on 1293 with a pair of Richard Crawford Staf Van Reets.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 9 members sent 58 birds with the red card and Second and Third places going to B. Rowson on 1593, 1552 1473 all with his Soontjen x Davy Alport Blacks. Fourth place went to T. Tasker on 1422 with a hen off Andy Jacklin Barton.

Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 100 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs John Hall on 1391 with a A. Welford Karel Boeckx which won Eastbourne last year. Second place went to K. Stamford on 1379 with a D. Biddy of East Hull Jos Thone x Janssen. Third place went to Mr & Mrs J. Hall on 1323 with a A. Sarel bird bought at a club sale. Fourth place went to S O’Loughlin on 1311.

Cottingham Homing Society. 5 members sent 32 birds with the red card going to K. Kingston & Family on 1521 with a late bred carrying nine nest flights. Second place went to John & Margaret Rawson on 1519 with a multi prize winning Hereman Ceuster x Radar. Third place went to George Smith on 1416 with a Corbett Busschaert flying to the perch. Fourth place went to Kev Kingston on 1408 with a Dave Robinson bird.

Driffield Homing Society. 7 members sent 41 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1404 with a 4yr old Royal Oak loft Vandenabeele previous winner plus 2nd Battle this year. Second place went to Pete Dixon on 1388 with a Vandenabeele off the late Ray Bell stock and it was first time over the channel. Third place went to Pete Dixon on 1360 with a 2yr old self bred Royal Oak loft stock. Fourth place went to Ken Gladstone on 1359 with a 5yr old multi prize winner off Ricky Wheelhouse stock. Kingston Flying Club. 4 members sent 23 birds with the red card going to Bill Drayton on 1316 with a self bred hen. Second place went to Andy Hunter on 1243 with a Koopman x Joss Thorne which had a 2nd Arras last year. Third place went to Andy Hunter on 1224 with a Van de Weegan which has won before. Fourth place went to Ernie Barnes on 1147 with an Imbrecht.

Little Weighton Club. 6members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Bob Lonsdale on 1231 with a Chris Gordon x Delbar hen. Second place went to Tony Walker on 1222 with a Geerinckx cock that won Newark. Third place went to Bob Lonsdale on 1111 with a hen. Fourth place went to T. Humblestone on 1031 with a yearling off Dennis Jackson lines Tony wins the Nom.

Fourth place went to Wardle & Hayward on 1262 with a Vandenabeele.

Norton I. Flying Club. 10 members sent 88 birds with the red card going to Andy Freer on 1570 with a Bourge breed. Well done Andy after a break from the sport. Second place went to Maurace Hodgson on 1496 with a J Hotham which has scored before. Third place went to R. Burdett on 1466 with a F. Sheader Soontjen won Eastbourne last year. Fourth place went to Mick Burdett on 1447 with a Leemputten off the late Bobby Thorpe stock.

Kirbymoorside F. Club. 7 members sent 90 birds with the red card going to Albert Tateson on 1625 with a R. Mort Leemputten. Second and Fourth places went to Albert Tateson on 1501 and 1445 with his self bred Leemputtens. Third place went to H. Jackson on 1463 with a self bred.
