YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS


WITH SUE.

This weeks first young bird race from Newark on the 22nd July were liberated in a South East wind. Topping the Combine and the Central Section is Mr & Mrs Graham Foster on 1734. Topping the South Section is Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles of Flamborough on 1574. Topping the West Section is Mr & Mrs Brumby on Eastrington on 1558. Topping the North Section is Colin Smith of Filey on 1501. Well done to everyone as it was not a great forecast with some clubs not sending yet it turned out better than was expected.

Central Section:

 

Kingston Flying Club. 3 members sent 63 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places all going to Mr & Mrs Graham Foster on 1734, 1733, 1733 and 1733 again all with his self bred Sayers Bros Smit Van Winkles.  

 

Little Weighton Club. 4 members sent 62 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places going to Tony Walker on 1654, 1526, 1525 and 1524 1st with a gift bird. 2nd with a Dick Cawthorne gift bird. 3rd with a self bred Hereman Ceuster 4th gift bird same as winner.

Walton Priory Club. 7 members sent 148 birds with the red card going to new member Paul Rhodes on 1623 with an Alan Stone Hereman Ceuster cock. Second place went to D. Rasul on 1617 with a self bred cock. Third place went to Paul Young & Bros on 1589 with a Romain Legeist cock.
Fourth place went Paul Gray on 1555 with a self bred Busschaert hen.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 4 members sent 168 birds with the red card going to Dave Thompson on 1653 with a direct Mathews cock. Second and Third places went to Dave Thompson on 1594 and 1594 with a pair of Hereman Ceusters cocks. Fourth place went yet again to Dave Thompson on 1593 with a Malderhart cock.

Hull Millennium Club. 7 members sent 122 birds with the red card going to John & Jackie Hall on 1626 with a R & H Glasby Van de Merwe bred special for the £10 ring special. Second and Third places went to John & Jackie Hall on 1622 and 1620 with a pair of A. Welfords Karel Boeckxs Fourth place went to S. O’Laughlin on 1620 with
one of P. Stamfords birds in tow.

Cottingham Homing Society. 3 members sent 62 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston with one of his own family.

Driffield Homing Society. 5 members sent 116 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places going to Paul Woodmansey on 1713, 1713, 1643 and 1642 self bred of Bob Mallinson stock. The first cock is paired to a fantail dropper sitting 7 day eggs. Second bird win nom and Eva Kirby cup and Winnie Hagston meat nom, next two are hens. Winnie don’t forget this week to put the E.T.S Pad in the young bird section.

North Hull Club. 4 members sent 58 birds with the red card going to Barry Kipling on 1585 with a Richard Crawford Hereman Ceuster. Second and Third place went to P. Jones on 1537 and 1516 with a pair of self bred G. Howmans Jannsen. Fourth place went to Colin Wood & Son on 1505 with a Martindale Van Rehn x R. Crawford Hereman Ceuster.

Wawne Ferry Club. 4 members sent 76 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places all going to Keith Gleeson on 1614, 1603, 1515 and 1492
all with his Rene Nauwelaerts. 

 

Coastal North Section:

 

Filey Homing Society. 5 members sent 93 birds with the red card going to Colin Smith on 1501 with a Van de Poel x Steve Sellars lines. Second place went to Mervyn Hinchcliffe on 1471 with a Marina Van de Velde hen. Third and Fourth places went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1431 with a pair of Self bred Stefaan Lambrechts.

Scarborough Social Club. 2 members sent 30 birds with the red card going to Keith Todd on 1124 with a Second place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 977 with a Third place went to Keith Todd on 912 with a Fourth place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 839 with a    

  

Coastal South Section:

 

Flamborough Homing Society. 9 members sent 227 birds with the red card and Second places going to Kerrie Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1574 and 1574 with a pair of Stuart Knowles Vandenabeels. Third place went to Kerrie Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1574 with a Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went to John & Linda Chadwick
on 1568 with a Van Dyke x Veenstra.

Bridlington D.F.C. 2 members sent 36 birds with the red card and Second places going to Kerrie Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1573 and 1573 with a pair of Stuart Knowles Vandenabeeles. Third place went to Kerrie Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1573 with a Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went to with a Kerrie Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1573 with a Belguim from Chris Vasey.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 5 members sent 155 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Edmonds on 1549 with a Vandenabeele. Second Place went to Mr & Mrs Bennison on 1403 no details. Third Place went to Gavin Leahy on 1256 with a Clive Lister pigeon. Fourth place went to A. Midgley on 782 no details.

Withernsea Homing Society. 4 members sent 81 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places going to Reg Wright on 1464, 1461, 1461 and 1461
all with his family of Van Mareetbats.   

 West Section: 

 

Eastrington P. F. C. 4 members sent 61 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1558 with a Van Lint. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1553 with a Vandenabeele x Gust Janssen. Third and Fourth places went to George Jackson on 1506 and 1489 with a pair of his mixed breed.

 

 

Norton Club sent as a club with a separate liberation.

Norton Homing Society 9 members sent 169 birds with first place going to G. Acey on 1632 with a N. Laycock Soontjen gift bird. Second and Third places went to G. Acey on 1629 and 1624 with a pair of Louis Thijs x Leo Heremans nest pair. Fourth place went again to G. Acey on 1612 with a Leo Heremans x Hofkin.
