YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This week the race from Huntingdon was a fast one the 15th of June the birds were liberated in a South West wind. Topping the Combine and the North Section is Peter Thorpe of Scarborough on 1989. Topping the South Section is Ken Gray & Paul Atkin of Bridlington on 1964. Topping the Central Section is Oliver Shaw of Nafferton on 1951. Topping the West Section is Howard Jackson of Norton on 1947 Well done to everyone. Nice to speak to Ray Butler and to hear that he is on the mend.

 

Coastal North Section:

 

Scarborough Social Club. 6 members sent 116 birds with the red card going to Peter Thorpe on 1989 with a 2yr old Hereman Ceuster x Lafebre which has had many cards. Second & Fourth places went to Derek Howard Paddy Johnson & Roger Grundy on 1967 & 1932 with another pair of their Keith Arklass prize winning pigeons. Third Place went to Pete & Pat Chapman on 1937 with one of his family of Pobors.     

Whitby Premier Club. 5 members sent 103 birds with the red card going to Les Winspear & John Cowey on 1974 Second Third and Fourth places went to S. Mallinson & Son Rob on 1973 1973 & 1972. No details received

 

 Coastal South Section:

 

Flamborough Homing Society. 9 members sent 170 birds with the red card going to Ken Gray & Paul Atkin on 1964 & 1963 with a pair of yearlings. Third place went to Kerry Mellonby Stuart Knowles & Colin Simpkin on 1939. Fourth place went to Dave Fussey on 1934 no details received 

 

Bridlington D.F.C. 3 members sent 35 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs O. Wilkinson on 1951 with a Gaby Vandenabeele. Second place went to Riley & Kian Wilkinson on 1949 with a Walter Docx. Third and Fourth places went to Mr & Mrs O. Wilkinson on 1923 & 1917 with a pair of Janssens.

 

Holderness Flying Club. 3 members sent 26 birds with the red card going to John Wadsworth on 1931 Second place went to Colin Bolton on 1913 Third place went to Colin Bolton on 1897 Fourth place went to John Wadsworth on 1895 no details received.

 

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 7 members sent 125 birds with the red card Second & Fourth places all going to Phil & June Edmonds on 1946, 1933 & 1916. Third place went to R & S Ashcroft on 1917.   

 

Withernsea Homing Society. 5 members sent 90 birds with the red card going to Dean Adamson on 1874 with a self bred D. Beadle Hardy Kruger Second place went to Dean Adamson on 1806 with a self bred Hardy Kruger which topped the combine from Arras and is same way bred as the winner. Third place went to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1778 with a self bred J. Rawson x George Atkinson pigeon. Fourth place went to Dave Beadle with a Derwa x Gaston van de Wouwer.   

 

Central Section:

 

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 6 members sent 40 birds with the red card and second place going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1832 & 1832. Third & Fourth places go to P C. Carmichael on 1804 & 1802.

 

Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 151 birds with the red card going to Alan Stone & Son on 1915 with a Mark McCall from the Guinness Factory. Second place went to Alan Stone & Son on 1914 with a gift bird off Mark Taylor which has got 3 x 1sts to date. Third place went to Alan Stone & Son on 1914 with a Hereman Ceuster x Soontjen. Fourth place went to Alan Stone & Son on 1908 with one of his Guinness Factory birds.

 

Cottingham Homing Society. 7 members sent 63 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1937 with a D. Robinson hen sitting eggs she was 3rd from Arras. Second place went to D. Smith on 1920 no details. Third place went to George Atkinson on 1907 with a Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to Kev Kingston & Family with a latebred Jan Arden having its first race.

 

Driffield Homing Society. 7 members sent 125 birds with the red card going to Ian Waggott & Grandson on 1881 with a Foxwood lofts Geerincks having its 3rd card.  Second place went to Ian Waggott & Grandson on 1877 with a self bred Borkec taking its 1st card. Third place went to Ian Waggott & Grandson on 1869 with a self bred Van De Mere taking its 2nd card this year. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1859 with a Vandenabeele had a 2nd at Arras. Arthur Welford s/p 1st & 2nd I. Waggott & G/son 3rd & 4th Mr & Mrs Brumby

 

North Hull Club. 6 members sent 41 birds with the red card going to Pete & Angie Burke on 1913 with a multi card winning Van Reet. Second place went to Pete & Angie Burke on 1862 with a Van Reet which won last Huntingdon. Third place went to Pete & Angie Burke on 1857 with another Van Reet. Fourth place went to Steve Siddle on 1834 with a Martin Dawson gift bird. 

 

Nafferton Flying Club. 6 members sent 41 birds with the red card and Second place going to Oliver Shaw on 1951 & 1938. Third place went to Sam Jackson on 1930. Fourth place went to John Raines on 1915.

 

Kingston Flying Club. 4 members sent 61 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs King on 1910 with a Cooreman which has already had 3 x 1sts. Second place went to Foster & Bennett on 1900 with a yearling Sayers Brothers bird. Third place went to H. Wallace on 1880 with a Mark Callam Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs King on 1878 with a Cooreman.

 

Wawne Ferry Club. 9 members sent 93 birds with the red card going to Anderson & Anderson on 1880 with a Keith Blowman Gevaert Van Schoorisse. Second & Third places went to A & K Hajduk on 1871 & 1862 with a pair of Staff Van Reets. Fourth place went to A & K Hajduk again on 1857 with a Janssen.

 

 

 West Section 

Norton I. Flying Club. 10 members sent 84 birds with the red card going to Howard Jackson on 1947 with a Johan Donkers hen which was 2nd last week from Arras. Second and Fourth places went to Maurace Hodgson on 1944 with a pair of self bred  Rob Mallinson of Whitby birds. Third place went to Alan Gill on 1944 with a Geerincks also winning the pools. 100% returns.
