Sportsman & Comrades H/S and Sunderland Premier Federation Presentation Night

By Good Corn

The very hard working Sportsman & Comrades H/S Chairman John Potts invited me to present the silverware for the Sportsman & Comrades H/S and the Sunderland Premier Federation on Saturday 24th November, I took grandsons Hayden & Tyler along to the payout night which is held at the Silksworth Comrades Club. I have attended a couple of their payout nights and also attended a number of the Clubs Breeder/Buyer Sales over the years, which are always very well organised by John, who is a credit to the sport. The night got under-way with John taking to the stage to welcome everyone to the Big Night, after paying respect to the passing away of the fanciers the Club and Federation had sadly lost throughout the year John gave a run-down on the format of the evening. The prizes and Trophies of the Sportsman & Comrades H/S would be presented first followed by the Clubs Breeder/Buyer payout and then moving on to the Sunderland Premier Federation presentation, the rest of the night would be spent with the Disco, Buffet and Raffle. I think it's only right to mention behind every hard working fancier of the sport there is always a woman involved and that Lady in John's case his is very hard working wife who is the Clubs treasurer and what a fantastic job she does.
