Some pre season information for members;

The fed are holding two breeder buyer sales this year, BOTH to be held at the fed H.Q. Gresley Old Hall, Gresley Wood Road, Church Gresley, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. DE11 9QW.

The first sale will be held on Friday March 16th, viewing from 6pm, sale commences at 7pm. 

The second sale will be held on Sunday April 8th, viewing from noon, sale commences at 1pm.

There is no limit on the amount of YB’s that can be purchased or entered, and YB’s must be in the pen on the day of the sale. Minimum opening bid is £20 and the auctioneer will be John Sheasby.  80% of the sale proceeds will go to prize money, 10% to federation funds and 10% towards medals for the winning breeder and buyer.

The race will be flown from Kingsdown scheduled for the weekend of September 15th and 16th 2018. The breeder/buyer birds will be liberated separately, and there is guaranteed minimum prize money of £1000.

There will be 4 prizes of 40%-30%-20%-10%, split 50/50 to breeder and buyer of the successful birds. Members are reminded that breeder buyer birds must be entered on a separate race sheet/ ETS printout, and must be timed into a separate manual clock from the federation special race clock.

Any RPRA member can enter birds into the sales, but only Federation members can purchase the birds to race.

The 2018 Old Bird race programme is as follows;

Starting Saturday April 14th from Hullavington; April 21st Hullavington; April 28th Frome; May 5th Yeovil; May 12th Kingsdown; May 19th Yeovil; May 26th a double header, Fed special race 1 from Coutances, marking Thursday, and an inland race from Frome marking Friday. June 2nd Kingsdown; June 9th  a double header, Fed special race 2 from Fougeres, marking Thursday, and an inland race from Frome marking Friday. June 16th Yeovil; June 23rd a double header, Fed special race 3 from Messac, marking Thursday, and an inland race from Frome marking Friday. June 30th Kingsdown; and finally July 7th Fed special race 4 from Ancenis, marking Thursday.

Please note, for all 4 federation special races from over the channel there will be a necessity to mark the birds early, as all birds will have to be convoyed from the marking stations to the Federation HQ for pick up by Browns Transport at 7-30pm.

Marking stations for 2018 are Castle Gresley; Birch Coppice; Stretton and Osmaston Park in Derby.

The 2018 YB programme is as follows;

Starting Saturday July 21st from Hullavington; July 28th Hullavington; August 4th Frome; August 11th Yeovil; August 18th Kingsdown; August 25th Frome; September 1st Yeovil; September 8th Yeovil; and finally; September 15th the YB special race from Kingsdown.

There will be an Inland special race from Kingsdown on June 2nd, £1 a bird, with a £1 single bird nomination, winner takes all. Prize money is guaranteed at £200 with 10 prizes, same % as Fed special race payout. This race is not compulsory, and members can enter as many birds as they wish, but please remember to put your entries on a separate sheet, these birds are also eligible to race in the fed race the same day, as it will all be under one liberation.

The Convoyers Trophy is to be raced from Yeovil on June 16th, £1 single bird entry, guaranteed £50 prize money, and paid out 50%-30%-20%.

The Old Bird Ladies race will also take place from Kingsdown on June 2nd, £1 single bird entry, with a guaranteed £50 to the winner.

The Young Bird Ladies race will be flown from Yeovil on September 1st, £1 single bird entry, with a guaranteed £50 to the winner.
