Cork Area News.
After a turbulent 2020, we again seem to be facing an uncertain 2021. After much effort to try to provide a programme last season, everyone had hoped we would have resumed to some sort of normality, but yet again we are in uncharted waters.
AGM’s cannot take place but again decisions need to be made and plans need to be put in place should normality resume so hopefully it can be agreed for committees so stay on in their positions until a proper AGM can be held.
Last season we just about got in a race programme and some great performances were yet again achieved by some very gallant birds.
Our federation races were won by Wallace & Hammill (Monaghan OB), Krystof Lusiewicz (Mauchaline Scotland), Tim Hennessey (Coleraine & Perth) and Billy Mc Carthy (Banbridge OB & Dundalk YB). So great credit is due to the performances of both fanciers and birds.

Denis Murphy of the Harbour view pigeon club timed a dark check cock from a hard Frazerburgh and this bird was the only bird timed in the Cork area a great performance.

A virtual Blackpool has come and gone and many of our older fanciers probably missed it more than most as they really appreciate the Weekend to meet up with friends from across Ireland and the UK. Hopefully it will be back on track next year. Great credit is due to everyone who put the show online and to keep the show on the road.
Hopefully over the next few weeks we might speak to some of our local winners in both Clubs and the federation and see what strains and methods they use to achieve results racing on a tough north route from Scotland into Cork we might also look at quality performances from times past.
