R & J Conlane take top 4 open places from Mallow 2
The East Down Combine were in Mallow on May 21st for the 2nd Race of the 2022 season from there and with a fresh southerly wind at the release point the birds were away at 10am and a fast race was expected, as indeed was the case and again it was the West Section which dominated the open result having the first 23 places with the first East section bird being to Annsborough’s P McCartan.
The Belmont lofts of R & J Conlane following on from their success of 1st Open EDC from Cashel a few weeks ago go went one better this week taking the first four places in both the Open and Section followed very closely by Newtownbreda’s I & A Cousins and M Albert and then two to Dundonald’s Mark Foulis with the Dundonald lofts of Stephen Brown and Roy Irwin completing the top ten in the Open.
East section as mentioned was won by P McCartan of Annsborough and he was followed by D & K McCutcheon of Donaghadee with Bangor’s Burgess & Brennan 3rd and these were then followed by Bangor’s R Moore & son who had the next 3 places.
