The second YND combine race of 2022 now to report on its been a while since I did the first event report from Guernsey 1 as I’m the secretary of the New North Road Amalgamation so I’ve been busy with running this and my local racing club Ilkeston North Road FC and also spending time with my family but all will get completed and published in the end so over to the event and 13 federations and specialist clubs came together to release the birds together and compete alongside each other this was being flown from Guernsey in the Channel Islands on the picturesque Beach for the second visit and 3,527 birds were liberated at 08.00am on the 11/6/22 into a south west aiding wind by William Ward and the Steve Teasdale pigeon transport team. The top 22 positions in the combine are as follows having a multiple win making four wins on the day from Guernsey including first YND combine was the partnership of Leake & Walker flying 298 miles their other first wins include 1st Northern Classic Championship club, 1st North East Provincial club and 1st Carlton FC the winning bird a 1y blue roundabout system flown cock and his breeding being a Hofkens strain were the parents originating from John Redfern and these originated from the Jackson & Andrews partnership of Howden north East Yorkshire their winning velocity was 1764.

2nd YND combine was D & A Swift & Son flying 249 miles and also achieved 1st North Derbyshire SR federation and 1st Heage SRFC their scoring bird a 3y blue widowhood system flown cock this makes this now his fifth time in topping the North Derbyshire federation for the partnership and a string of club cards and his breeding is of Rudy Van Reeth and being a son of Hamilton and daughter to Zus which are both in stock at the partnership’s pigeon stud Dragon fly Lofts their velocity was 1762.67.

3rd YND combine and 1st Nottinghamshire SR federation was Evans & Jackson flying 260 miles doing 1762.30.

4th YND combine and 1st Doncaster SR Federation and 1st Thorpe HS flying 278 miles was Mr & Mrs Pashley with a velocity of 1753.

5th YND combine plus 1st Derbyshire SR federation flying 282 miles was Alywne Paddey doing 1752.86.

6th, 7th, 9th, and 15th YND combine was R & C ‘O’Shea flying 269 miles they also achieved 1st, 2nd,3rd and 4th Manton Colliery FC 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th Whitwell FC, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th Nottinghamshire SR federation plus 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Derbyshire SR federation and 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th section and 6th, 7th, 9th and 15th open Northern Classic championship club with their team of roundabout system flown old birds their first a 1y hen bred of direct sent birds to them from Dutch friend Maurice Van Der Kruk and she’s already won for the partnership their second bird a 1y hen being a Mark Bulled of Harlow crossed a bird out of Terry Smiths MNFC Carantan section winner their third bird a 1y hen being bred out Maurice Van Der Kruk of Tiel Holland stock and their fourth bird a 1y hen being bred directly by Terry Smith from out his old original winning blood lines their velocities were 1752, 1749, 1745.73 and 1740.92.

8th YND combine plus 1st Big Barnsley SR federation was D Field flying 292 miles doing 1747.

10th YND combine plus 2nd Big Barnsley SR federation and 1st Tryburg HS was Steve field flying 281 miles with a 3y chequer widowhood flown hen being a Gabby Vandenbeale with a velocity of 1745.39.

11th YND combine plus 3rd Big Barnsley SR federation was Marshall & Vallance flying 293 miles doing 1743.

12th YND combine plus 4th Big Barnsley SR federation and 2nd Tryburg HS was Atkinson & Grayson flying 277 miles with a 3y dark cock flown on the widowhood system and being a Peter Van De Mere strain bred from the stock off the late Lenny Field their velocity was 1742.

13th YND Combine plus 1st Central Yorkshire SR federation and 1st Knottingley FC was A Bainbridge & Son flying 295 miles with a 2y Belgium rung bred blue white flight hen she’s directly bred by Chris Raes of Belgium were Mark and Albert visit Chris and his wife annually for pigeons and she was paired up flying back to another hen in the loft and Fed on Vanrobeys corn for the event with a velocity of 1741.62.

14th YND combine and 5th Notts SR federation was Collin Dixon flying 262 miles doing 1741.47.

16th YND combine was Malcolm Haigh flying 297 miles and also achieving 2nd Doncaster SR federation 2nd North East provincial club and 2nd Goole FC his scoring bird a 3y Soojen cock bred down from Frank Sheader stock the cock was flown on the roundabout system and since being a young bird till now a 3y has scored and won prizes for Malcolm in both club and federation level his velocity was 1740.32.

17th YND Combine plus 2nd North Derbyshire SR federation and 1st Wirksworth FC was Ian Wagstaffe flying 250 miles doing 1739.

18th YND combine was D & J Hawkins & Evans flying 287 miles and also achieving 3rd Doncaster SR federation and 2nd Thorpe HS with a 5y widowhood flown Gabby Vandenbeale hen doing 1737.31.

19th YND combine was Mr & Mrs Newton and Heather Downs flying 282 miles and also achieved 6th Derbyshire SR federation and 1st Edlington Hill Top FC being a 2y widowhood flown P & D racing Stud Dirk Van Den Bulk cock with a velocity of 1737.08.

20th YND combine was Wright & Lock flying 303 miles and also achieved 2nd Central Yorkshire SR federation and 1st Selby Unicorn FC the scoring bird a 3y blue hen flown on the widowhood system and she being a previous winner for the partnership from Guernsey and her breeding being a Bushart strain in which the partnership has kept for many years her velocity was 1737.04.
