The birds were at Brighton this week Saturday 17th July, it was another combine race with the Hull South Road Federation going with the East Coast Fed and with the Lincolnshire South Road Federation making the East Coast Continental Combine up. It was forecast to be a scorcher so everyone wanted the birds up as early as possible to get them home before the temperatures got to high and so at 6am the strings were cut and the birds got underway in a fresh north east wind. The top 10 of the Hull South Road Fed is as follows; 1st P. Murphy Ravenser 1317, 2nd J. Martindale West Hull 1296, 3rd S&M Horne & Plews Hessle FC 1295, 4th S.Hewitt Ravenser 1291, 5th G.Waslin Ravenser 1289, 6th & 7th M. Dawson Fountain Rd 1289 & 1287, 8th P. Murphy Ravenser 1286, 9th J. Eastburn Ravenser 1286, 10th R & E. Stephenson Beverley 1286.
Ravenser FC: 11 members sent 214 birds. West Hull FC: 6 members sent 120 birds. Taking the 1st x 4 places in the club & 2nd fed was Jamie Martindale clocking on 1296 with a well-bred Leo Van Rijn, then clocking on 1266 with a yearling cock, a Leo Van Rijn x Geoff Layton of Sunderland bird and this young cock already has 3x1st, 1x2nd and 1x4th, Jamie next clocked on 1265 taking 3rd club with another one of his well-bred Leo Van Rijn's and his 4th bird clocked on 1257 and was a Gaston Van De Wouwer from Shane Reading.

Walton Priory FC: 5 members sent 84 birds. Taking 1st club was Graham Howman, clocking on 1277 with a Leo Van Rijn yearling cock who is in great form as it was 2nd club & 7th fed the week previous, well done Graham, 2nd & 3rd club went to John Ellerby both clocking on 1270, his first bird through the trap was bred through John Bellaby and his next bird is from the great pairing of his Syndicate loft cock when paired to a Hereman Ceuster hen from Ronnie Nicklin and taking 4th club was Bob Smith timing a Busschaert x Van Loon in.
