This weeks racepoint takes us to Upper Heyford, a Royal Air Force station located 5 miles north-west of Bicester near the village of Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire.
The convoy of approx 1200 birds were liberated at 08.00 on 8th June in a south wind flying the 280 miles back into Central Scotland. A fast race was predicted and the winners were registered in the 1800s, but not many, and with erratic returns some clubs were being won with 150ypm to spare. This again has been the trend for the season. Some didn't time "in a blow home" and many lost a good number of pigeons. Nothing much to be positive about with this racing, but well done to the winners. Sorry to be negative.
McCormick & Hughes, Uddingston & Dist, take the first two in the federation. Great pigeons lads, well done on your victory.
