Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation's eleventh race of 2014 took place from Fougeres in conjunction with the North West Combine channel programme. The convoy were liberated in a light north east wind at 7am on Saturday 21st June. A steady race ensued with the leading pigeons recording velocities in the mid 1300’s and after recent weeks a welcome tonic for all concerned.

Brian & Terry Snagg’s impressive channel run continues as they take 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions at the Edge Hill (9/42). The winner is a yearling cheq widower bred out of their own bloodlines and he won a 3rd prize as a young bird as did the second timer another yearling widower, this time a cheq white flight. Third timer is a yearling blue widower taking his first card. Bobby Lane takes 4th position with a 4 year old Heremans Ceusters widower that won the corresponding race in 2013 as well as 4th NL Fed and 14th NW Combine and he also has a number of other prizes to his credit. John Pugh takes 1st and 4th positions at the Crosby. The winner is a 2 year old widower of Campbell Brothers bloodlines that won Falaise 1 and has also taken a 2nd and 4th club in 2014. The second timer is a yearling and is a full brother to the winner. Joe Pearman & Joe Rooney take 2nd and 3rd positions with a couple of yearling widowhood hens. First timer is a Heremans Ceusters followed by a Van Reet x Vandenabeele. Thanks Joe.

John Jones takes 1st and 2nd positions at the Kirkdale (3/11) on 1230 and 1152. The winner is a previous prize-winner being in the result last week as well as taking 2nd club Messac in 2013 and he is bred by Kenny Murtagh, a man who John holds in very high regard. The second timer is a yearling gift pigeon bred by Norman Jones taking its first card. Kevin Birkett takes 3rd and 4th positions on 1142 and 1004 with a blue white flight Vandenabeele cock via Terry & Michael Hobson and his previous turns include 1st club Hereford in 2014 Second timer is a cheq Wildie x Laffy Daffy that has also won previously and taken minor cards and he is bred through stock obtained from Bobby White and MRAD Lofts, Thatto Heath. Tommy & Karen Hibbs take 1st position at the Pirrie (8/67). The winner is a yearling blue hen, another winning granddaughter of goldmine producer Whitetail and she has been in the prizes previously when taking 6th NL Fed. John & Gary Hartless and Paul Howard take 2nd and 3rd positions with a yearling blue hen bred by Jimmy Hampson of Banks. Her previous turns include victory as a young bird and 2nd club Bath in 2014. Second timer is a blue hen that was previously only bird on the day from Messac in 2013. Tommy Woods takes 4th position with a 2 year old blue white flight cock. Thanks Jimmy.

Billy Dooley, Paddy Rowan and Sid Chapman take 1st and 4th positions at the Princes Park with a couple of Vandenabeele widowers. The winner is known as Lesley's Gift and was bred by Widnes aces Crowe & Worrall, followed by one bred from a brother to a National winner. Sid Powell takes 2nd position with a 2 year old blue white flight cock bred by Neil Gargan of Prenton. John Devine maintains his recent form to take 3rd position with a yearling blue cock out of his own family and this cock was a recent winner at Falaise. Thanks Tom.

Joe Perry & Son take 1st, 2nd and 4th positions at the Litherland with three widowers out of their Steven Goulding stock. The winner is Van Loon x Van Den Brande with the former bloodline coming through top breeder Income Support. Second timer is a Van Loon x Stickers Donkers and third timer is a Van Loon. Mr & Mrs Ted Davin senior and Jock McCafferty remain in the prizes this week, taking 3rd position with a 2 year old widower out of their Gordon Sinclair Rapido Busschaert lines. Thanks Ted.

Rimmer & Cleminson take the top two spots at the Riverside (5/16) clocking a couple of Walter Docx widowers bred by Charlie McArdle and Terry Archbold on 1308 and 1242. The winner is known as the Ghost as the lads never see him arrive! (Thanks Charlie & Terry - Peter and Dave). Mr & Mrs J O’Brien and Son take 3rd and 4th positions on 1212 and 1194. Clocking two Van Lint x Willy Jacobs widowers. First timer has a 4th Falaise in 2014 and the second timer has a 2nd Yeovil and 5th Falaise in 2014. Rimmer & Cleminson win the first three channel races averages. Thanks Ian.

RSMF Lofts take 1st position at the Bootle (6/34) on 1237 no further details to hand. Eddie Bradley takes 2nd and 3rd positions on 1229(x2) with a yearling widower bred by Liddle & Field of Banks near Southport, followed by a Jos Thoné x Koopman. John & Tony Porter take 4th position on 1203 no further details to hand. Thanks Keith.

Roy Reid shuts out the first four positions at the Spellow on 1319, 1316, 1299 and 1296. The winner is a son of his 2nd NW Combine winner when paired to a full sister of his Monmouth fed topper. Second timer is the De Meester hen which was 2nd Falaise recently and she is through a son of Mike Beck of Flint’s number 1 pair when paired to a daughter of Darren Norris’ True Grit, a winner of 13x1st & 6x2nd. Third timer is a son of Wally Mellor’s 20x1st cock and the final timer is a Lambrecht that came in as a stray and was transferred to Roy by a Mr Bowers of Macclesfield. John & Fran McDowell retain top spot at the Vauxhall, a result which also sees them take 1st North Liverpool Federation. The winner is a yearling Vandenabeele hen which is a daughter of John & Fran’s 2013 Hereford fed topper who is bred down from Myrtle Lofts Jester 320 and a John Blundell Vandenabeele hen. The dam is bred from a grandson of Shadow when paired to a daughter of Roman. Ste Williamson & John Murphy take 2nd position with a powder blue Mandelartz bred by John Gerrard that has previous form with 3 positions as a young bird, it’s nest mate also won. Kelly Brothers, Sons and Devine take 3rd and 4th positions with a yearling Border Lofts bred Heremans Ceusters followed by another yearling this time a daughter of RPRA Award winner Burger when paired to 1st NW Combine winner Ruby Gold and this hen has taken previous cards. No result in this week for the Taylors Arms, however a look at the fed sheet tells us John & Tony Porter take 1st and 2nd positions on 1310 and 1294. G Porter takes 3rd position on 1291 and JJ Corbett takes 4th position on 1270.

Danny Pearson is still on the missing list so again we consult the fed sheet and we see a new name heading the Central result, that of Rees Brothers and Caples who take 1st position on 1291 (Congratulations lads). Last week’s NW Combine victor Terry Hodson takes 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions on 1270 and 1260 (x2).
