The SWELC second young bird race of its programme was back at Stratford Upon Avon Warwickshire (2) on the 15/8/21 at 11am Peter, the head convoyer, released the birds into a light south west wind.
The top twenty open positions in the race were as follows taking top spot plus 2nd, 3rd & 4th open was the Adam Red Arrow Brothers of Chris & John Adams flying 56 miles with their team of darkness flown young birds were both sexes are left to run together their winner a chequer white flight hen which is a Coreman X Van Loon and their second bird a blue pied hen is also a Coreman X Van Loon their 3rd bird is a Welsh rung blue cock that came into their lofts as a lost young bird and would never leave the loft again after taking the bird near Wales it just kept returning several times so the bird was given to them it’s breeding is of a Van Dyke from John Andrews of Barry Town South Wales bred bird And finally their 4th bird being a red cock which is a Coreman X a David Cowan Talbot bird their winning velocities were 2x 1254, 1253 & 1252.

5th, 8th & 9th open was Gary Mundy flying 64 miles his first bird a chequer cock that is Dirk Van Den Bulck bred from birds purchased from Jason Bateman his 2nd bird a blue hen which is a Franz Zwols bred off purchased birds from Phillip Barry and Gary’s third bird a chequer hen that is a Franz Zwols X Dirk Van Den Bulck all were flying back to the perch in the loft Gary’s velocities were 1244, & 2 x 1238.
6th, 16th, 17th & 18th open was David Fox flying 37miles with his natural flown team of Stan Dangerfield based birds with velocities of 1242, 2x 1222 & 1221.
7th open was Chris Templar flying 65miles with a natural flown Dark hen flying back to the perch she is bred from Chris’s 2021 BICC winner she is a Gert Louise x Coopman breeding her velocity was 1241.

10th & 11th open was Percy Hatherell flying 55miles with 2 x natural flown blue cocks of his own created strain of birds with velocities of 1234 & 1233.
12th & 15th open was S Bennett flying 56 miles with a chequer hen & chequer cock doing 1231 & 1224.
13th & 20th open was Dave Smith flying 53 miles his first bird was purchased at the SWELC breeder buyer pen sale and was bred and donated by Shaun Pilgrim of Hucknall and is a bred from a grandson off De Caprio X a Premier Stud Herman Cuesters blue cock his second bird a Jody McKay of Bridgewater bred Dirk Van Den Bulck mealy cock all flown on the Darkness system flying back to the perch with velocities of 1230 & 1219.
14th open was Wesley Selway flying 84 miles with blue darkness flown Little hen on the sliding door system that was bred by Bob Kirby of Devon which is a Jan Hoyman her velocity was 1228.
19th open was Andy George flying 64 miles with a blue chequer natural flown hen flying back to the perch that is a Den Godwin bred based bird with a velocity of 1220.
