The South West of England Lerwick club held its seventh young bird race of the season from Ripon Race Course in North Yorkshire on the 13/9/20 at 09.30am into a strong south west head and side wind into a full blue skied sunny morning the birds were released.

The top twenty now... Taking the passion and the glory on topping the Lerwick club plus also 1st Thornbury NRFC was Dave Smith flying 181 miles with a blue soojen hen flying back to the perch with a velocity of 1051.

2nd, 9th, 14th & 15th open & 1st Sodbury Vale SRFC was P Hatherell flying 184 miles doing 1046.067, 1012, then two birds together doing 956.

3rd & 16th open & 1st Brislington NRFC was Alan Meacham flying 191 miles with two Dirk Van Den Bulks his first a chequer hen were her sire is a full brother to a 4 x 1st open Lerwick club winner her Dam is a granddaughter of Brother Horde Roede and Blauwe Leo Alan’s velocities were 1046 & 954.
