The South West of England Lerwick Club held its fourth old bird race of the season from Pontefract racecourse,  West Yorkshire when head convoyer Peter liberated the birds at 09.00am into a light north west wind on the 22/5/21.  The top twenty positions were as follows; taking first spot with his turned around south road old bird team was Jimmy Monks flying 163 miles with a 2y blue Manderlartz X Bushart widowhood hen doing a winning velocity of 1242.

2nd, & 13th open was A & R Smith flying 158 miles their first a 1y Frank Tasker natural flown blue chequer hen followed by a Dave Smith bred Paul Stobbs 1y blue natural hen velocities of 1202 & 1181.647.

3rd open was Roger Flew flying 159 miles with a natural flown own created strain 3y blue cock doing 1202.946.

4th & 12th was C & J Adams flying 158 miles with their Van loon based widowhood hens doing 1200 & 1182.

5th, 7th & 15th was Alan Meacham flying 165 miles his first two birds were 4y Wildesmersch X Lambrechts widowhood cocks both previous winners his third bird a 3y red Dirk Van Den Bulck widowhood cock with velocities of 1200, 1198 & 1180.

6th was Percy Hatherell flying 157 miles with a 2y blue cock doing 1198.760. 8th, 18th & 19th was David Fox flying 140 miles with his natural flown south road turned around old birds his first a 2y red hen of the old Stan Dangerfield distance family his second bird a red pied 1y cock again the old Stan Dangerfield strain and his third bird a blue chequer 3y Bushart X Ko Nipias hen bred by Mr Walker of Lancashire velocities of 1196, 1175 & 1174.

9th was Robert Organ flying 151 miles with a 3y blue chequer Bushart widowhood hen doing 1190.

10th & 14th was Dave Smith flying 154 miles with two roundabout flown Paul Stobbs Soojens coming the first a 1y chequer cock followed by a 2y blue pied hen doing 1183 & 1181.

11th, flying 143 miles was the partnership of Luff & Walker Bros with a 3y blue chequer hen flown on widowhood and this season being her first season flown on the grand old north road route already this season she has achieved a 2nd north west section in the Central Southern Classic clubs first north road race from Ilkeston she has also scored well for the partnership on the south road route with some impressive section and open positions in the NFC & CSCC her breeding is of Peter Fox Syndicate lofts direct stock lines of Sky Fall, Mario, Beautify & Sunday Girl crossed with the partnerships NFC Tarbes section winning cock that has achieved some impressive NFC positions including section and open positions from across the water his breeding is of Steve Bennet of Bristol stock birds their velocity was 1182.
