YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE

This Combine race from Billericay on May 4th 2013 was sponsored by Alan Saxon Plumbers, expert and reliable plumbing services for East Yorkshire serving both domestic and commercial customers. The birds were liberated in a West South West wind taking the birds straight to the Coast as expected and topping the Combine and the South Section is Dave Beadle of Withernsea on 1618. Topping the North Section is Mr & Mrs Hotham of Filey on 1575. Topping the Central Section is K Kingston & Family of Hull on 1529. Topping the West Section is George Atkinson of Pocklington on 1504. Well done everyone.

Coastal South Section: 

 

Withernsea Homing Society. 9 members sent 125 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1618 with a Herman Gus Janssen. Second place went to Martin Dawson on 1578 with a Tony Meek Vandenabeele. Third place went to Dean Adamson on 1576 with a John Rawson pigeon. Fourth place went to Martin Dawson on 1566 with a G. Goodwin pigeon.

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. Sent 101 birds with the red card going to Walker & Sparkes on 1612 with a direct Premier stud pigeon bred in Belgium. Second place went to Nicholls & Whitehouse on 1612 with a Direct Premier Stud pigeon. Third and Fourth place went to Beadle & Sparkes on 1595 and 1594 with a pair of direct Premier Stud pigeon.    

Bridlington D.F.C. 12 members sent 182 birds with the red card going to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1539 with a Premier Stud yearling Hardy Kruger which scored cards as a young bird. Second and Fourth place went to Bernard Gray on 1536 and 1528. Third place went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1529 with a Premier Stud Reynaert x Vandenabeele which has scored inland and over the channel.   

Bridlington D.R.P.C. 6 members sent 135 birds with the red card and Third place going to Harry Smith on 1547 and 1541 with a pair of Soontjens Second and Fourth place went to Tony Ellis with a pair of Hofkens. 

Flamborough Homing Society. The red card went to Mick Holdsworth on 1466 with a Janssen hen Mick also wins the nom. Second place went to Mike Farnell on 1443 with a Kirkpatrick x Verheye cock. Third place went to John Kemp on 1415 with a Mike Pinkney gift cock. Fourth place went to Paul Lawson on 1358 with a cock from his own stock.

Hornsea & D. H. Society sent 119 birds with the red card and Second place going to Graham Prince on 1534 and 1533 with a pair of Busschaerts. Third and Fourth place went to Gavin Leahy on 1520 and 1449 with a pair of Vandenabeels. 

Hedon Flying Club. 7 members sent 249 birds with the red card going to John Wadsworth on 1583 with a Paul & Helen Johnson cock which was shot while training two weeks before racing, the shot went in through the breast bone and out of its back. Second place went to John Wadsworth on 1583 with a brother to the winner. Third place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1555 with a Premier Stud yearling Koopman x M & D Evans Vandenabeele which had a 1st as a young bird. Fourth place went again to John Wadsworth on 1554 with a P & H Johnson multi card winner which was hawked just before the season started.

Coastal North Section:

Scarborough Social Club. 14 members sent 288 birds with the red card going to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1525 with a Vandenabeele x Koopman which has now had 5 x 1st and was 2nd last week with other cards to its name. Second place went to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1525 with a Geert Philips x Willy Vranken x Koopman which was 3rd Combine Sleaford and a 1st Combine Huntingdon this year. Third place went to Derek Howard & Paddy Johnson on 1519 with a Fourth place went to Terry & Paul Douthwaite again on 1511 with a yearling Geert Phillips x Willy Vranken x Arien Vereckt. Terry & Paul win the Murrey Brown and Son Sponsor.

Filey Homing Society. 7 members sent 153 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1575 with a pigeon bred from a Leo Heremans x Ian Stafford. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1575 with one of their best birds in the loft a multi prize winning Steve & Shelia Trattles hen. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1542 with their multi winner x Louis Thjis which has had top places in the last three races and topped the Combine last week. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1542 with a Minderhoud x Marina Van de Velde.

Hunmanby Homing Society. 7 members sent 152 birds with the red card and Third place going to J & A Barmby on 1527 and 1520 no details. Second place went to Tony Robson on 1522 with a Marina Van De Velde which had 3 x 1st last year. Fourth place went to John & Les Hill on 1515 with a Flor Engels x Busschaert had cards before. 

Whitby Premier Club. 12 members sent 264 birds with the red card for the second week going to Les Winspear on 1493 with a yearling Fountainhead Janssen x B K Hawes Leo Van Rijn roundabout hen that was 2nd club last week. Second place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1491 with a Gert Heylen x Karel Boeckx yearling cock. Third place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1473 with a 2yr old widowhood cock  bred by Good friend Luke Miller from Ian Stafford's Jos Thone x Koopmans which has had a 3rd Eastbourne and a 6th Arras to its name. Fourth place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1473 with a Louis Thijs yearling Heremans Ceusters yearling cock. Alan Richarson wins the pools.

Hull Millennium Club. 10 members sent 168 birds with the red card going to John Hall & Jackie Dearlove on 1491 with a Towes of Leeds pigeon that has had numerous cards for John and has just been broken off to a new loft. Second Third and Fourth places went to Kev & Helen Green on 1486, 1483 and 1477 all from his Ark Family and all flying on the natural system and having had plenty of training.

Fourth place went to John Rawson on 1482 with a Marcell Sanger x Radar.

North Hull Club. The red card went to Barry Kipling on 1467 with a G. Cox Brasspenning which has had prizes before. Second place went to M. Shutt on 1453 with a Les Pollard gift bird. Third place went to D. Franciosy on 1444 with a Van den Bosche. Fourth place went to E. Smith on 1439 with a Janssen x Busschaert.

Driffield Homing Society. 14 members sent 212 birds with the red card going to Sam Jackson on 1525 with a Clive Lister Gus Janssen x Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1523 with a Bob Mallinson Barberien x Van Den Brante which won Huntingdon 2 weeks ago. Third place went to Sam Jackson on 1518 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster which won last weeks race. East Hull Flying Club. 8 members sent 95 birds with the red card going to Shane Reading on 1501 with a Soontjen hen. Second place went to Ernie Barnes on 1472 with a natural hen. Third place went to C. Bolton on 1465 no details. Fourth place went to T. Genter on 1459 with his Huntingdon winner.
