YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE

Saturday the 15th September and the birds were liberated at Sleaford with a West South West wind sending the birds over to the Coast and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Martyn Dawson and Son Billy of Withernsea on 1653. Topping the North Section is Jess & Jen Hotham of Filey on 1605. Topping the West Section is J. M. Shipley of Eastrington on 1418. Topping the Central Section is Barry Kipling of Hull on 1649 Well done to everyone.

Withernsea Homing Society. 5 members sent 46 birds with the red card and Second places going to Martyn Dawson and son Billy on 1653 and 1650 with a pair of Vandenabeeles. Third place went to Dave Beadle on 1634. Fourth place went again to Martyn Dawson and son Billy on 1611 with a Jimmy Goodwin bird. 

Hedon Flying Club. 5 members sent 160 birds with the red card going to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1629 with a Vandenabeele x Koopman. Second place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1614 with a Peter Vander Merwe. Third place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1610 with a Premier Stud Reynaert. Fourth place went yet again to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1588 with a Premier Stud Reynaert x Koopman half brother to winner.

Filey Homing Society. 6 members sent 115 birds with the red card going to Jess & Jen Hotham on 1605 with a direct Marina Van De Velde. Second and Third place went to Jess & Jen Hotham on 1602 and 1588 with a pair of Marina Van De Velde off their excellent stock. Fourth place went yet again to Jess & Jen Hotham on 1587 with a direct Louis Thijs Hereman Ceuster which topped the combine last week. 

Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 178 birds with the red card for the 3rd time going to Ken and Sue Skelton on 1603 with a Scheers Lodewyckx x Bri Bolton hen having its first race. Second place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 1558 with a Premier Stud Koopman cock. Third place went to Ken & Sue Skelton on 1523 with a Premier Stud Premier Ace cock having had every race. Fourth place went yet again to Ken & Sue Skelton on 1522 with a Premier Stud Herbots hen. All having only had two short tosses since racing started.

Hunmanby Homing Society. 5 members sent 98 birds with the red card going to Tony Robson on 1578  with a Marina Van De Velde cock sitting eggs. Second place went to John and Les Hill on 1572 with a Busschaert x Janssen which won the £10 club nom. Third place went to John and Les Hill on 1568 with the nest mate to the 2nd bird which has had a 1st Sleaford and a 5th Peterborough. Fourth place went Tony Robson on 1556 with a Marina Van D Velde cock.

Whitby Premier Club. 7 members sent 143 birds with the red card for the 3rd time going to Alan Richardson on 1575 with a Louis Thijs Heremans Ceuster hen sitting 3 day eggs and wind all the pools.  Second place went to Alan Richardson on 1575 with a Louis Thijs Heremans Ceuster hen which has had a 1st Eastbourne, 5th Billericay and a 7th Huntingdon. Third place went to S. Mallinson & son on 1567 with a direct Louis Thijs Heremans Ceuster hen which has had a 2nd Sleaford. Fourth place went to Alan Richardson on 1566 with a direct Marian Van De Velde hen.   

Central Section:

North Hull Club. 5 members sent 40 birds with the red card going to B. Kipling on 1680 with a Phil Wood Janssen which won Eastbourne. Second place went to P. Jones on 1427 with a Wall Lunt and Green Janssen. Third place went to M. Shutt on 1401 with a Les Pollard Van Reet. Fourth place went to D. Rasul on 1354 with a D. Franciosy Busschaert.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 11 members sent 157 birds with the red card going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1534 with a Paul Gorog Leo Van Rijn cock. Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1457 with a Busschaert x Beverdam cock. Third place went to D. Robson on 1434 with a Janssen x Van Loon hen. Fourth place went to Franciosy & Bennett again on 1433 with a direct Mathews hen.

Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 171 birds with the red card going to Mick Wood on 1507 with a K Kingston & Family hen which had only been trained up to this race. Second and Third place went to Kev Green on 1503 and 1477 with his very good Ark Family. Fourth place went to new member Dick Mansell on 1474.

Cottingham Homing Society. 6 members sent 105 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1549 with a Nauwelaerts which has had every race including Caronten. Second place went to Colin Wood & Son on 1523 Third place went to Phil and Sue Sullivan on 1515 with a Freddy Vandeheede x Arien Vereckt. Fourth place went to W D & S & S Hadley on 1490 with a bird that was badly injured early on in the season and is now going through its paces.

Driffield Homing Society. 16 members sent 356 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1518 with a Royal Oak Lofts Koopman. Second place went to Geoff & Gary Ringrose on 1506 with a Staff Van Reet off Carl Nee stock. Third and Fourth place went to Sam Jackson on 1479 and 1472 with a pair of Hereman Ceusters. J & M Edeson wins the pools.

Third place went to Les Pollard on 1236 with a Soontjen hen that was 2nd from Huntindon. Fourth place went to Les Pollard on 1168 with a Soontjen hen bred off prize winners.

East Hull Flying Club. 6 members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Justin Waters for the third week on the trot on 1493 with a Vandenabeele cock. Second place went to Steve Anglesmith on 1445 with a Nauwelaert. Third place went to Justin Waters on 1403 with a Soontjen. Fourth place went to Dodsley and Barnes on 1398 with a D Lloyd Herman.   

West Section:

Eastrington P. F. C. 8 members sent 104 birds with the red card going to J. M. Shipley on 1418 with a Pete Beadle Soontjen x Figo that wins the £1 Nom and Meat nom. Second and Third place went to Alan Beevers on 1381 and 1374 with a pair of Delbars. Fourth place went to John Pickering on 1321 with one of his own breed.

Haxby Flying Club. 4 members sent 111 birds with the red card going to P. Fannan on 1306 with a Janssen. Second place went to P. Hammond on 1294 with a A. Marshall pigeon. Third and Fourth places went to B & C Mason on 1281 and 1281 with a pair of Delbars.

Norton I. Flying Club. 17 members sent 343 birds with the red card going to G. Walker on 1400 with a B. Clayburn Soontjen x Van Loon. Second place went to B. Dawson on 1392 with a B. Ford & Sons gift bird. Third place went to R. Burdett on 1392 with a Soontjen. Fourth place went to B L Boyes on 1390 with a Soontjen which was 2nd Huntingdon.

Pocklington H. Society. 6 members sent 83 birds with the red card and Second place going to G. W. Atkinson on 1393 and 1368 with a pair of Van De Rhee x Janssens. Third place went to G. W. Atkinson on 1367 with a Jelly Rosier bird. Fourth place went yet again to G. W. Atkinson on 1348 with a Reinhard.

Goole L.M.S.H.S. 16 members sent 251 birds with the red card going to M. Brighton on 1346 with a self bred Waldo Pyke x Frank Sheader hen.
