Sunday the 8th of June and after a holdover due to rain the birds were liberated at Billericay at 10-15am in a North West wind. Topping the Central Section and the Combine is Vic & Jenny Moody & Rebecca Turner of Hull on 1311. Topping the Coastal South Section is Bolton & Williamson of Bridlington on 1309. Topping the Coastal North section is Hotham & Ruston on 1307. Topping the West Section is J. Pickering on 1284.

Coastal North Section:

Filey Homing Society. 6 members sent 67 birds with the red card going to Hotham & Ruston on 1259 with a direct Marina Van de Velde Belgium off the top Heremans Ceusters. Second place went to M. Hinchcliffe on 1216 with a cock bred by W. Halifax of Filey. Third place went to Hotham & Ruston again on 1212 with a Marina Van de Velde off stock birds. Fourth place went to Hotham & Ruston again on 1209 with a cock bred from Samson x Toursman off Marina Van De Velde lines and it has already won Huntingdon this year.

Hunmanby Homing Society. The red card went to Dave & Press officer Ann Beswick on 1268 with a Karel Boeckx cock a previous 1st prize winner as well as other prizes and is bred from directs. Second place went to J & A Barmby on 1254 Third place went to Hill Bros on 1242 Fourth place went to P. Kettlewood on 1239 no details of the others.

Scarborough Social Club. 14 members sent 205 birds with the red card going to Terry & Paul Douthwaite on 1291 also winning the six bird with a well fancied Koopman x Reynaerts which scored from Fareham. Second place went to Terry & Paul Douthwaite again on 1290 with a Koopman bred from a hen from Syndicate lofts. Third place went to Keith Todd on 1290 with a cock bred off an Alien x Berti Camphus hen bred off multi prize winners. Fourth place went to George Ingle & Mealor on 1272 no details

Whitby Premier Club. 12 members sent 158 birds with the red card going to Storr Bros & Son on 1306.The inform loft of Brian & Son Jason had a fantastic day taking the first 4 positions, with the first bird being a yearling Legiest Janssen from Simon Parkinson of Scunthorpe x an Atkinson & Perkins of Billingham from their Vandenabeele family. Next on 1305 is a yearling roundabout Janssen hen bred by Ken Monks of Rotherham. Third and Fourth birds are the same way bred as the winner these are 2yr old cocks also flown on the roundabout both have had cards before. Well done Brian, Jason and grandson Louis. They also take pools along with R W Winspear.

Dunswell Homing Society. 7 members sent 87 birds with the red card and second place going to B. Withers on 1208 and 1204 with a pair off his old breed. Third place went to B. Thornton and daughter on 1203 with a pigeon that was bought as a young bird off Les Parkinson. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Brown on 1176 with a multi winning Hartog.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 11 members sent 124 birds with the red card going to D Tompson on 1308 with a direct M. Mathews cock. Second Third and Fourth positions went to Franciosy and Bennett on 1270, 1267 and 1264 with three Van Den Bosch cocks finishing their excellent day by taking the pools and top bird.

Hull Millennium Club. 10 members sent 150 birds with the red card going to Vic & Jenny Moody & Rebecca Turner on 1311 with a Janssen x Van Reet yearling widowhood cock taking his first prize card. Second place went to Vic & Jenny Moody & Rebecca Turner again on 1305 with yearling hen from the same family. Third place went to Ellen and Bob Stephenson on 1299 with a 2yr old cock racing on the roundabout system this bird is bred from Kevin Greens “Ark” family as is closely related to Ellen & Bobs Humberside trophy winner. Fourth place went again to Moody & Turner with a 2 year old Janssen hen on 1293. The club would like to wish Vic Moody a Happy Birthday for the 8th of June.

Little Weighton Club. 7 members sent 55 birds with the red card going to Les Pollard (who usually specialised in sprint racing) on 1246 with his 5yr old “Salt” cock who has won loads of red cards and is still doing it. Second place went to Les Pollard again on 1239 with a direct son and he has also won 4 cards previously. Third place went yet again to Les Pollard on 1234 with yet another son, which has had a 2nd section for Fareham earlier in the year, these birds originate from Salt Brothers of Kimberly and have been the main stay of the Pollard lofts. Fourth place went to Martindale Brothers with their Brasspenning based family. They also won the beer nom.  

North Hull Club. 14 members sent 164 birds with the red card going to one of the newer members of the club Graham Howman on 1311with a multi card winning Busschaert x De Klak. Second place went to the consistent partnership of Mr & Mrs Richard Crawford on 1310 with a yearling Wildemeersch x Van Loon that has 2 x 2nds to its name. Third place went to their local vet Dave Robinson on 1304 with one of his very strong team of Vandenabeeles. Fourth place went to Graham Howman again on 1299 with a Busschaert x De Klak.

              Coastal South Section:

Bridlington D.F.C. 10 members sent 102 birds with the red card going to Bolton & Williamson on 1309 with a yearling Van Loon. Second place went to Hotham & Ruston on 1307 with Marina Van de Velde bred off their no 1 Herman Custers stock pair. Third and Fourth places went to Kerry Mellonby & Ricky Wheelhouse on 1305 and 1302 with two of their multi prize winning Vandenabeeles.

Bridlington Eastside. 3 members sent 37 birds with the red card and Second place going to Jack Hague on 1297, 1194. Third & Fourth place went to M. Horner on 1187, 1182 no details of the birds from their press officer this week.

Bridlington D.R.P.C. taking the red card is Steve Sellars on 1285 with his multi prize winning Janssen. Second place went to helicopter Harry Smith with multi card winning Jan Loot on1284. Third place went to Ellis & Foreman on 1277 with one of Jackson & Andrews Hofkins. Fourth place went again to Ellis & Foreman on 1270 with another Hofkin.

Flamborough Homing Society. 5 members sent 54 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Jackson on 1163 with a Catrysse x cock. Second place went to J. Kemp on 1159 with a hen a gift bird from John Dixon of Holbeach in 2007. Third place went to M. Farnell on 1126 with a Verheye cock. Fourth place went to P. Lawson on 1096 with a Janssen hen.

Hornsea & District. 7 members sent 76 birds winning again this week is Phil & June Edmonds on 1309 with a Busschaert bred by Geoff Brundle. Second place went again to Phil & June Edmonds on 1307 with a Van Loon. Third place went to Adam Havler on 1206 with a Soontjen that has already had a 2nd and a 3rd this year. Fourth place went to Graham Prince on 1202 with a Jan Aarden yearling.

Hedon Flying Club. 9 members sent 103 birds with the red card going to Martin Weaver on 1290 with a 2yr old M & D Evans Vandenabeele x Andres & Greenwood brought out of the stock loft this year as all its brother and sisters are scoring. Second place went to Chris Salter on 1274 with a Tony Mardon yearling Van Reet. Third place went to Paul Johnson on 1271 with a yearling Andrews & Greenwood dark destroyer cock bred in the racing loft from parents who have topped the Combine, and this cock topped the combine from Newark last year. Fourth place went to Tony Grantham on 1266 with a Rene Neauwelaert yearling which scored from Huntingdon this year. 

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 155 birds with the red card going to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1181 with a McTavish Delbar Cock. Second place went to Geof Hines on 1179 with a grandson off his Excellent Thurso Hen. Third and Fourth places went again to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1173 and 1137 with a pair of Herman’s x Delbars which have had many cards befoe.

Western Section

Acomb W.M.H.S. 18 members sent 263 birds wIth the red card going to D & S Rhodeson 1259 with a Cor Hanergraf widowhood cock that topped the combine from Huntingdon 2 weeks ago. Second place went to Deighton & Lister on 1258with a Vandenabeele roundabout hen that has already scored his year. Third place went to Deighton & Lister again on 1253 with full sister to above hen that is a previous winner. Fourth place went to G & L Scaifeon 1252 with a Van Reet x Janssen from Gordons mother Ella.

Burton Lane Club. 7 members sent 75 birds with the red card and Second place going to Eric Harris on 1217 and 1205 with a pair of Busschaerts. Third place went to I. Scaife on 1198 no details. Fourth place went to D. Beamson on 1197 with a Busschaert.

Eastrington Rose & Crown. 7 members sent 82 birds with first and second going to G.W. Atkinson on 1249 and 1243 no details. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hagston & Family on 1243 with a De Klak x Soontjen having its 3rd race of the season. Fourth place went to M. Shipley on 1242 with the same Hartog that scored earlier in the season. Thackray & Wright win the £1 nom for the 3rd week in a row with one of Glens birds but it is still 2-1 to Sue. George wins the meat with a consistent 5yr old.

Haxby Flying Club. 6 members sent 75 birds with the red card going to I Willis on 1251 with a Van Loon widowhood cock winning its second race of the season. Second place went again to I Willis on 1248 with a blue bar Son of Rafa that won 2 weeks ago. Third place went to P Hammond on 1184 with a bird bred by B Harrison and Sons. Fourth place went again to P. Hammond on 1181 with a Tony Hazel bird.

Norton I. Flying Club. 12 members sent 140 birds with the red card going to J. Pickering on 1284 with a well fancied Vandenabeele widowhood cock, picking up all pools and pontoon. Second place went to M. Burdett on 1273 with one of his consistent Leemputtens. Third place went to B Dawson on 1271 with an Alf Baker widowhood cock. Fourth place went to B. Ford & Sons on 1265 with a widowhood cock bred from their Leighton Brothers stock birds.  

Pocklington H. Society. 10 members sent 97 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1212 with a Staf Van Reet. Second place went to M. Etherington on 1180 with an M/M Beswick Carrara. Third place went to S. Etherington on 1179 with Bill Brown Venner. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs Brumby on 1173 with a Staf Van Reet.
