YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

WITH SUE.

This week the race from Huntingdon on the 9th of May was liberated in a Strong South West wind. Topping the Combine and the South Section is Dean Adamson of Withernsea on 2099. Topping the Central Section is Alan Stone & Son of Hull on 2045 Topping the North Section is Paul Abbott & Son of Whitby on 1987 Well done everyone. Thanks goes to Paul Johnson Ken, Chris and others for revamping the baskets.

Coastal South Section:

Withernsea Homing Society. 4 members sent 55 birds with the red card & Second place going to Dean Adamson on 2099 & 2027 with his strong family of pigeons. Third & Fourth places going to Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1958 & 1937 with their card winning John Rawson stock.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 8 members sent 256 birds with the red card Second and third places all going to Gavin Leahy with 3 hens on 2097, 2038 & 2033. Fourth place going to Mr & Mrs R & S Ashcroft on 2002.   

Holderness Flying Club. 10 members sent 194 birds with the red card going to Paul & Helen Johnson on 2026 with 3yr old Sablon x Van De Maere cock. Second place went to new member Dave Beadle on 2021 with a 2yr old Sablon x hen Third place went to Dave Beadle on 1982 with a 3yr old Herman Ceusters hen great start Dave. Fourth place went to Paul & Helen Johnson on 1971 with a 2yr old Sablon x Ceusters hen. Paul took this week off and the daily trips to Grimsby with the birds certainly paid off.

Flamborough Homing Society. 7 members sent 199 birds with the red card going to   K. Mellonby S. Knowles C. Simpkin on 2051 with a multi scoring Stuart Knowles Hereman Cuester. Second place went to K. Mellonby S. Knowles C. Simpkin on 2025 with a Stuart Knowles Vandenabeele. Third place went to K. Mellonby S. Knowles C. Simpkin on 2025 with a S. Knowles Raomain Klien. Fourth place went to K. Mellonby S. Knowles C. Simpkin on 2002 with a S. Knowles Ceuster a double combine winner.    

Bridlington D.F.C. 5 members sent 81 birds with the red card going to Riley Wilkinson on 2018 with a Janssen off his uncle Ralph from Leeds. Second place went to Oliver & Shaun Wilkinson on 2017 with a breeder buyer off Mr Bettney of Hornsea. Third and Fourth places went to Oliver & Shaun on 1988 & 1977 with a pair of Janssens bred by Brother from Leeds.

Coastal North Section:

Scarborough Social Club. 5 members sent 106 birds with the red card & third place going to Pete Thorpe & Dave Elvidge on 1955 & 1933 the first pigeon is a multi card winning Herman Ceuster which topped the combine 2yrs ago Second and Fourth places went to Pete & Pat Chapman on 1941 & 1929 with their winning family.      

Whitby Premier Club. 9 members sent 305 birds with the red card & second place going to P Abbott & Son Darren on 1987 and 1986 with a 3 & 2yr old self bred pair of Dirk van den Bulck roundabout cocks off stock from good friend Eddy from Leeds. 

3rd place went to James McCourt & Son Dale on 1985 with a yearling Heremans Ceuster cock bred from stock. 4th place went to James McCourt & Son Dale on 1984 with a yearling Bosua cock bred from stock off Paul Fisher Alan Richardson wins the pools.

Central Section:

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 10 members sent 175 birds with the red card going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1952 with a Herman Ceuster x De Wert which has now got 3 x 1st. Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1945 with a Vandenabeele hen which now has a 1st and 2 x 2nds. Third and Fourth places went to George Rudd on 1940 & 1936 with a pair of Herman Ceuster hens.

Hull Millennium Club. 13 members sent 374 birds with the red card going to Alan Stone & Son on 2045 with a hen from Mr Foster of Blackpool. Second place went to Alan Stone & Son on 2044 with a Soontjen x Gary Cox cock. Third place went to Alan Stone & Son on 2013 with a Hardy Kruger hen off Wayne Brownlee. Fourth place went to Alan Stone & Son on 2012 with a self bred Soontjen. All the birds are on Roundabout.

Cottingham Homing Society. 8 members sent 131 birds with the red card and second place going to Bettney & Plant on 1959 and 1952 Third & Fourth places went to J. Donner on 1919 & 1907.

Driffield Homing Society. 9 members sent 194 birds with the red card going to Ken Gladstone on 1894 with one bred by James Parker of Reading. Second place went to G & G Ringrose on 1892 with one bred by Rob Mallinson of Whitby. Third place went to Ian Waggott & Grandson on 1860 with a Self bred Jules Severi taking its 1st card. Fourth place went to Geoff Acey on 1854 with a self bred G. Atkinson Vandenabeele. Arthur Welford S/P 1st G & G Ringrose 2nd 4th G. Atkinson. 3rd C. Sedman.

North Hull Club. 10 members sent 150 birds with the red card going to Mickey Foster on 1971 with a Wayne Brownlee Hardy Kruger. Second place went to Scott Marritt on 1942 with a Martin Dawson bred. Third place went to Paul Rhodes on 1933 with a Premier Stud Herman Ceuster. Fourth place went to Scott Marritt on 1919 with a multi winning Martin Dawson breed broken off K Green and takes the pools.    

Kingston Flying Club. 5 members sent 137 birds with the red card & second place going to Mark Taylor on 1994 1994 with a pair of Shane Redding Hereman Ceusters with a previous win. Third place went to Mark Taylor on 1993 with a Gary Coc Hereman Ceuster also a previous winner. Fourth place went to Harry Wallace on 1665 with a Mark Callam Herman Ceuster.

Wawne Ferry Club. 7 members sent 216 birds with the red card going to M. Szifer on 1988 with a gift bird off friend Arthur Chmiel. Second Third and Fourth places went to Jim Lowther & Son on 1956, 1955 and 1923 all with his Janssens.
