YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This week the first race for the young birds from Sleaford on the 7th of August was liberated in a strong Southerly wind. Topping the Combine and the South Section is Kerry Mellonby Stuart Knowles Colin Simpkin of Bridlington on 2015. Topping the North Section is Pete & Pat Chapman of Scarborough on 1890 Topping the Central Section is Keith Hayward of Hull on 1870. Well done to everyone with nice weather Gary forecast bang on again.

Coastal South Section:

Flamborough Homing Society. 7 members sent 223 birds with the red card Second third & Fourth places all going to Kerry Mellonby Stuart Knowles Colin Simpkin on 2015 2015 1993 & 1992 all with their winning family of birds. No details given  

Bridlington D.F.C. 5 members sent 66 birds with the red card and Second places going to John Raines & Oliver Shaw on 1740 and 1738 with their family of Jella Jellamas. Third place went to Riley Wilkinson on 1386 with a Janssen bred by Grandad off his Combine winner. Fourth place went to J & Z Wilkinson on 1260 with a Gaby Vandenabeele.

Holderness Flying Club. 5 members sent 207 birds with the red card going to Ken Lister on 1887 with a Gary Cox Van den Bulck. Second place went to Ken Lister on 1883 with a Premier Stud Hardy Kruger. Third place went to Ken Lister on 1851 with a Sablon via Henk De Weerdt. Evidently it was like a Carry on Film at Kens on Saturday, ETS no power, cables checked, fuses checked, then it just came back to life, by this time two birds on the trap and Ken running down the garden barefoot with his dogs in hot pursuit! Fourth place went to Chris Salter on 1820 with a Renee Nauwelaert. Birds came well. Well done.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 3 members sent 105 birds with the first four places all going to Gavin Leahy on 1562 1562 1560 1553. Well done  

Withernsea Homing Society. 4 members sent 47 birds with the red card Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1145 with a John Rawson breed. Second place Alec & Margaret Dodson on 1026 with one off French stray x K. Anderson. Third Alec & Margaret Dodson on 920 with one off the late J. Rawson bird. Fourth place going Alec & Margaret Dodson on 888 with a Dave Pinkerton x K. Anderson.  

Coastal North Section:

Scarborough Social Club. 4 members sent 57 birds with the red card and Second place going to Pete & Pat Chapman on 1890 & 1233 with a pair of long distant Pobors. Third & Fourth Places went to Andy Moon on 1210 & 1209 with his family of Hereman Ceuster.        

Central Section:

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 7 members sent 182 birds with the red card going to Graham Petherbridge & Dave Coates on 1629 with a Van Den Bulck cock off Jeff Tunbull Son & Nichola from Newcastle. Second place went to Graham Petherbridge & Dave Coates on 1628 with a Manderlatz hen off J. Williams going back to Dave Thomo’s stuff. Third place went to J. Knaggs on 1628 with a Vandenabeele hen. Fourth place went to Graham Petherbridge & Dave Coates on 1628 with a cock similar way bred as their first bird, many thanks for all the advice from Gary Cox.

Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 219 birds with the red card and Second place going to K & H Green on 1870 & 1869 with a pair out of his well trained Ark Family. Third and Fourth places went to Mr & Mrs Hall on 1863 & 1840 with a pair of self breds.

Cottingham Homing Society. 8 members sent 128 birds with the red card going to Keith Hayward on 1870 with a self bred Busschaert x Jan Arden. Second place went to Betney & Plant on 1737 with a Smit Van Winckle of his expensive German stock Third and Fourth places went to K & S Walsh on 1720 & 1651with his Frans..   

Driffield Homing Society. 5 members sent 69 birds with the red card going to G & G Ringrose on 1753 with a Rob Mallinson Louis Thijs x Frans De Coux. Second place went to J. W. Hubbard & Son on 1690 with a Leo Herman x Wildermesch. Third place went to G & G Ringrose on 1686 with a Rob Mallinson Herman Ceuster x Louis Thijs. Fourth place went to C & K Pallant on 1360 with one off the late Doug Mills stock. Arthur Welford sponsor won by G & G Ringrose, 2nd G. Atkinson, 3rd C & K Pallant.

North Hull Club. 4 members sent 57 birds with the red card going to Paul Rhodes on 1808 with a Chris Vasey Herman Ceuster. Second place went to Paul Rhodes on 1794 with a Premier Stud Herman Ceuster. Third place went to Barry Kipling on 1768 with a Shane Reading Herman Ceuster. Fourth place went to M. Foster on 1758 with a Wayne Brownlee Ceuster.   

Kingston Flying Club. 3 members sent 62 birds with the red card going to Mark Taylor on 1723 with a self bred Gary Cox Geerinckx. Second place went to A & B Scarah on 1438 with a Brian Burnaham x Humberside blood winner. Third place went to James Smith on 1131 with a Herman Ceuster from his new blood stock. Fourth place went to Mark Taylor on 1073 with a self bred Wayne Brownlee Hardy Kruger. 

Wawne Ferry Club. 3 members sent 110 birds with the red card going to A & K Hajduk on 1795. Second place went to Keith Gleeson on 1528. Third place went to A & K Hajduk on 1495. Fourth place went to Keith Gleeson on 1467 No Details given.
