DERBY NOTES 03-08-19
Saturday August 3rd and racing commenced after a blank weekend the previous weekend due to the bad weather. The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Hullavington and the pigeons were liberated at 10-15 in a light south east wind.
In Holbrook six members sent 151 birds with D & A Swift making a clean sweep taking the first four positions with a grizzle cock taking the red card doing 1498.3 this was followed by a blue pied hen doing 1458.6 then a blue w/f/cock doing 1447.0 and a cheq hen doing 1446.4.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society fourteen members sent 308 birds and new member Mick Richardson opening his account taking the red card with a cheq hen doing 1489.In second were Paul & Lynda Todd with a blue w/f hen doing 1470 followed by Pat Tillson with a pied hen doing 1446 with Shenton brothers in fourth with a cheq hen doing 1435.Both Paul & Lynda Todd and Shenton Brothers pigeons originate from the loft of club member Jake Harcup.
In Etwall & District Flying Club seven members sent 95 birds with Willy Horton taking the red card with a cheq hen doing 1438.4 followed by Steve Billings with a blue hen doing 1377.6.J.S.Phillips took third doing 1254 with a blue pied hen followed by P & S Harrison in fourth with a red hen doing 1227.6

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Upper Heyford were 48 members sent 697 birds. The pigeons were liberated at 09-15 in a south east wind. In Kilburn Club four members sent 75 birds and making a clean sweep was Keith Foulke with a dark cock doing 1565.7 taking the red card, followed by three dark hens doing 1564.2 1561.1 & 1560.2 taking the rest of the prizes. Also Keith gets the icing on the cake taking the first four positions in The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation. Well done Keith.
