Saturday May 26th and both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Carentan for the first of their channel races. The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation got theirs away at 12-50 in a variable wind.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society getting the red card with a two year old blue hen doing 1137 was Mick Stone. His second pigeon was a three year old blue cock doing 1062 to take third. In second position was Dave Waddington with a four year old red cock doing 1099 this was Dave?s only entry with Glew & O?Donnell in fourth with a three year old Cheq cock doing 994.

In Etwall & District Flying Club A. Peach & Son took the red card with a two year old blue cock doing 1115 followed by a three year old Cheq cock doing 1005 to take third. In second position was Peter & Shelia Harrison with a two year old Cheq hen doing 1075 with Mick Leszczyszak in fourth with a Two year old red cock doing 953.

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation got theirs away at 13-30 in a north east wind. In Kilburn Welfare Parkin & Hall get the winner with a six year old blue hen doing 841 and a yearling Cheq cock doing 730 to take fourth. In second with a with a two year old blue cock doing 837 was Keith Cresswell with Keith Foulkes in third doing 745 with a two year old Cheq hen.
The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held an inland race from Frome and were liberated at 12.50 in a very string north east wind.
In the Brackens South Road Flying Club Jason & Karen Phillips took the red card with their good grizzle cock doing 1255.The next three positions went to Paul & Lynda Todd. Their first pigeon was a yearling pied cock doing 1211 followed by a three year old Cheq cock doing 1186 then a yearling dk/ch cock doing 1165.

Their winner was a two year old pied hen doing 1244 followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1229 then a yearling blue hen doing 1190.42 to take fourth. In third position was Steve Billings with a four year old blue cock doing 1190.44.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society the in form loft of John & Steve Hicks get the winner with a two year old blue pied cock doing 1202 9( a hat trick for this loft ) followed by L.D.S. Johnson in second with a yearling Cheq cock doing 1172.In third position was Dave Waddington with a two year old dk/Cheq cock doing 1171 followed by Mick Stone with a two year old dk/ch cock doing 1164 to take fourth.
