DERBY NOTES

Saturday 28th May and it was the first of the federation special races for both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation who were at Carentan.Due to bad weather in France the pigeons were held over until Sunday and both federations were liberated at 06-30 in a light north east wind.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club John & Pamela Dowd continue with their in form loft taking the red card also fourth position.Their winner was doing 1084 and their second pigeon was doing 1064 both were two year old blue hens.In second position was Roger & Mark Duffield with a yearling cheq hen doing 1080 with G Inger & Son in third with a two year old blue cock doing 1074.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society it was another excellent performance for Mick Stone who took the first three positions.His winner was a two year old blue hen doing 1060.8 followed by a yearling b/w/f hen doing 1060.5 then a two year old blue hen doing 1029.In fourth position was Jake Harcup with a two year old blue hen doing 1015. 
In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve & Sue Redfern & Family took the first three positions.Taking the red card was a two year old dark hen which was a gift pigeon of Roy Gregory & Son doing 1049 followed by a three year old cheq hen doing 1013 then a three year old blue hen doing 986.In fourth position was A.Peach & Son with  three year old cheq cock doing 975.
In Derby South Road Flying Club L.D.S. Johnson get the red card with a red hen doing 986 followed by a blue hen doing 985 to take second position.In third & fourth positions was Mick Leszczyack with a yearling blue cock doing 959 followed by a four year old red cock doing 922
In Derby Premier Paul & Lynda Todd get the winner with a three year old cheq hen doing 982.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held a inland race from Blandford and were liberated Saturday at 11-15 in a east north east wind.Continueing there incredible form the Stone family once again dominated the Osmaston Park Homing Society with secretary Steve Stone taking the red card and getting the first pigeon into Derby.His winner was a yearling red hen doing 1389 followed by a b/w/f hen doing 1383.1 to take third position.In second position with a blue yearling cock doing 1383.3 was Mick Stone with Dave Waddington in fourth with a two year old red cock doing 1366.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club it was back to back wins for John & Pamela Dowd who took the red card with a yearling cheq cock doing 1363 followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1347.6 taking third position then a two year old cheq cock doing 1347.2 to take fourth.In second position was G.Inger & Son with a yearling cheq hen doing 1358.

In Derby South Road Flying Club it was L.D.S. Johnson who came out on top with a yearling blue cock doing 1364 to take the red card followed by Paul & Lynda Todd who took the next three positions with a seven year old cheq hen doing 1348 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 1347 then a two year old cheq cock doing 1346 which was bred by Jake Harcup.
In Etwall & District Flying Club it was back to back wins for Steve Billings who took the red card with a two year old blue cock doing 1348.In second & fourth position was A.Peach & Son with a five year old mealy cock doing 1347 followed by a five year old cheq hen doing 1329.In third position was Alan & Liz Houldsworth with a yearling cheq cock doing 1330.
In the Silver Ghost Homing Society Woolley & Rogers come out on top with a six year old blue cock doing 1318 to take the red card.In second & third positions was Brian Dyjas with a three year old pencil cock doing 1306 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 1299.In fourth position was Reuben Hough with a yearling cheq hen doing 1274.
