DERBY NOTES

Saturday June 25th saw the second of the special races for both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation From Messac with the pigeons being convoyed together and were liberated simultaneously at 07-15 in a north west wind.
Getting the first pigeon into Derby was the Oakwood loft of Paul & Lynda Todd getting the red card in Derby Premier Flying Club with a four year old blue hen doing 1184 which had been  sitting fourteen days,their next pigeon was a yearling cheq hen doing 1110 to take third position.In second & fourth positions was L.D.S. Johnson with a mealy cock doing 1136 to take second position followed by  a yearling red cheq cock doing 1083 to take fourth. 

Paul & Lynda Todd who got the first pigeon into Derby from both the channel race and the inland race


In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve Redfern & Family had a excellent race taking three of the first four positions.Their first two pigeons were two blue yearling cocks doing 1144 & 1077 followed by a three year old cheq cock doing 1027 to take fourth. In third position was Sam Phillips with a three year old cheq cock doing 1052. 
In Derby South Road Flying Club Mick Leszczyszak made a clean sweep with a red yearling cock doing 1162 to take the red card which was bred  by his good friends Steve & Sue Redfern & Family  followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1119 then a two year old cheq cock doing 1067 then a four year old red cock doing 1001.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society Dave Glew came out on top with a two year old blue cock doing 1039 with Jake Harcup taking second & third positions with a cheq pied yearling hen doing 1022 followed by a three year old grizzle hen doing 1006.In fourth position with a two year old blue hen doing 1002 was S & H W Hall.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held a inland race from Kingsdown and the pigeons were liberated at 08-30 in a north west wind.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Rick Shelton gets the winner with a yearling cheq cock doing 1458.In second position was club secretary Derek Towers with a two year old blue cock doing 1433 with John & Pamela Dowd in third & fourth positions with a yearling blue cock doing 1428 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 1421. 
In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve Billings gets the red card with a two year old b/w/f cock doing 1441 followed by a two year old grizzle cock doing 1409 to take third.In second & fourth positions was Paul Williams with a three year old red cock doing 1415 and a two year old blue cock doing 1392. 

In Derby South Road Club getting the icing on the cake making a clean sweep and getting the first pigeon into Derby was Paul & Lynda Todd.Their winner was a two year old blue hen a previous winner doing 1436 followed by two yearling blue hens doing 1417 & 1409 with a three year old blue hen doing 1406 to take fourth.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society Dave Waddington takes the top two positions with two yearling  cocks both doing 1425.In third position was Mick Fearn with a yearling blue cock doing 1416 with Mick Stone in fourth with a  three year old blue cock doing 1410.
In the Cornishman Homing Society Reuben Hough takes the red card also second position with two, two year old cheq cocks doing 1317 & 1302.The winner is out of Kevin Spiers blood lines and the second is of his own breeding.Woolley & Rogers take third & fourth positions with a two year old blue cock doing 1295 which was bred by Reubin Hough and his next pigeon doing 1292.
