DERBY NOTES

Saturday May 7th and Derby Premier were at Newbury with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation.  

The pigeons were liberated at 11-10 in a south east wind. Congratulations to Paul & Lynda Todd who after topping the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation the week previous continued with their in form pigeons to win for the fourth consecutive week taking the red card in Derby Premier with a two year old blue cock doing 1433 which was bred by Monty Buxton.In second position with a two year old red cock doing 1408 was L.D.S. Johnson with Roy Gregory & Son in third with a two year old blue cock doing 1390 followed by John Coote in fourth with a two year old b/w/f cock doing 1388.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at  Blandford with the pigeons being liberated at 11-00 in a light south east wind.Getting a clear winner in Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club with a two year old blue Belgian cock doing 1323 was Roger & Mark Duffield with G Inger & Son in second position with a blue yearling cock doing 1287. Mr & Mrs John Dowd took third & fourth positions with a two year old blue cock doing 1256 followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1249.

The Little Eaton loft of Mick Fearn got the first pigeon into Derby to take the red card in Osmaston Park Homing Society. His winner was a three year old cheq cock doing 1315.In second & third positions was Dave Glew with two yearling cocks doing 1277 & 1275 with John & Steve Hicks in fourth with a yearling cheq cock doing 1273.

In the Cornishman Homing Society Brian Dyjas gets his hat trick with a blue yearling hen doing 1307 with Mr & Mrs J & K Phillips in second & fourth positions with a three year old cheq cock doing 1263 followed by a yearling mealy cock doing 1233.In third position was Terry Budd with a three year old cheq cock doing 1246.


In Etwall & District Flying Club Steve Billings opens his account with a two year old b/w/f/ cock doing 1302.In second position was Paul Williams with a three year old b/w/f cock doing 1287 followed by Peter & Shirley Harrison in third position with a three year old grizzle hen doing 1256 with A.Peach & Son in fourth with a six year old cheq cock doing 1255.

In Derby South Road Flying Club it turned out to be a two loft race with L.D.S.Johnson coming out on top taking the first two positions with a b/pied hen doing 1285 followed by a blue hen doing 1260 both yearlings. In third & fourth position was Roy Gregory & Son with a three year old blue cock doing 1245 followed by a five year old blue cock doing 1239.
