Saturday July 6th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Bath for their final old bird inland race of the season. The pigeons were liberated at 09-00 in a light south west wind.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society getting the winner and the only pigeon into Derby doing over 1800 ypm was Mick Willis & Family. Their winner was a two year old blue cock which makes it its third win this year. Second & third positions went to Mick Stone doing 1783 & 1781. Both pigeons were two year old blue cocks. In fourth position was Mick Fearn with a two year old blue pied cock doing 1767.

In Derby South Road Club Roy Gregory & Son get the red card doing 1792 with a yearling cheq cock. In second position with a yearling blue cock doing 1790 was John Hicks & Son with third & fourth positions going to Farrar & Peters doing 1773 & 1771 with a three year old mealy hen followed by a four year old blue hen. In their five bird section Roy Gregory & Son take the first two positions doing 1792 & 1751 with third & fourth positions going to John Hicks & Son doing 1740 & 1723.

In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Mr & Mrs John Dowd make it a clean sweep taking all the first four positons doing 1782, 1757.9, 1757.7 & 1756. Their winner was a yearling blue hen sent sitting which took third prize the week previous. Their second pigeon was a two year old blue hen followed by a yearling cheq cock and finally another yearling blue hen.

In Etwall & District Flying Club the first two positions went to A.Peach & Son doing 1750 & 1748. Their winner was a yearling cheq hen followed by a two year old cheq hen. Dave Williams & Son took third position doing 1744 with a two year old cheq hen with Alan & Liz Houldsworth in fourth position doing 1721 with a two year old blue cock.

Congratulations to Steve & Sue Redfern on their performance in the National Flying race from Tarbes winning 3rd & 9th section I, 66th & 170th open.
