Osmaston Park Homing Society & Derby Engineers Flying Club Joint Annual Prize Distribution 2010      

Osmaston Park Homing Society & Derby Engineers Flying Club held their joint presentation evening at their club headquarters The Derby Engineers Club on Saturday December 4th 2010. Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was Keith Jordan.

Starting the proceedings and first up were Osmaston Park Homing Society. Top prize winner for the 2010 season was Rueben Hough with 3x1sts, 4x2nds & 7x3rds + 7 minor cards, winning highest prize winners trophy, Grieg Reece-Evans shield. 1st young bird race, Ken Hall trophy, 1st young bird race, from a race course combine average trophy winner, young bird average winner and £205 prize money £65 gold ring race money a total of £270.20.

Next was Ron Hall winning 5x1sts, 2x2nds, 3x3rds, &4x4ths + 3 minor cards winning combine average trophy, prize money £186.30, show race money £78, breeder buyer money £20.00 a total of £284.62.

Next came Jason Phillips winning 5x1sts, 4x2nds, 1x3rd, 3x4ths + 1 minor card winning Longest young bird race shield, Bird of the year trophy and prize money of £143.10, gold ring race money £55.00, show race money £140.31, Self surporting race money £6.72 a total of £345.13.

Next up was Mick Stone winning 4x1sts, 2x2nds, 2x3rds, 4x4ths +4 minor cards winning prize money of £143.10 show race money £91.20, Gold ring race money £60.00 Self surpporting race £4.47 a total of £299.04.

Next was Steve Stone hard working club secretary winning 1x1st, 2x2nds, 4x3rds, 2x4ths+6 minor cards winning prize money of £108.00, gold ring race money £20.00, self surporting race £8.69 a total of £136.69.

Next was S& H W Hall winning Gold race ring trophy, winning 3x2nds, 2x3rds, 1x4th + 5 minor cards with prize money of £91.80, gold ring race money £170.00, breeder buyer money £60.00 a total of £321.80.

Next it was the turn of A.Woolley & Son winning 2x1sts, 1x2nd ,3x4ths + 4 minor cards with prize money of £83.70, show race money of £73.27 a total of £156.97.

Mick Willis & Family were next winning 2x1sts, 2x2nds, 2x3rds ,2x4ths + 7 minor cards winning £78.30 prize money, £33.27 show race money & £7.64 self supporting race money a total of £119.21.

Jack Whitehouse came next winning Carentan cup, Saintes trophy & channel average winning £54.00 prize money.

John Chadwick was next winning 1x2nd,1x4th + 4 minor cards with prize money of £35.10.

Next with 1x2nd & 1x4th + 2 minor cards and prize money of £32.40 was Mick Frawley.

Steve Treece & Son were next winning 2x2nds + 1 minor card and prize money of £32.40.

Next came Fred Stevenson winning 2x3rds + 2 minor cards and prize money of £29.70.

Bob Ford was next winning 1x3rd + 3 minor cards.Prize money of £13.50,show race money £3.26 a total of £16.76.

Next came Arthur & Carole Perry winning 1x4th with prize money of £8.10.Alan & Liz Houldsworth were next winning 2 minor cards with prize money of £3.70 show race money £44.36 a total of £48.06.

Mick Fearn was next winning £40.00 gold ring race money.Breeder buyer money £100.00 a total of £140.00.

Finally D & A Swift winning £20.00 breeder buyer.Ladies Race winner was Kim Stone.

Next it was the turn of Derby Engineers Flying Club.

Top prize winner for the 2010 season and first up to the table was Mick Fearn winning 12x1sts, 6x2nds, 11x3rds, 11x4ths & 7x5ths winning Longest young bird race cup, Young bird average cup and prize money of £468.99.

John & Steve Hicks were next winning 15x1sts, 13x2nds, 11x3rds, 5x4ths & 7x5ths winning Old bird inland average & old bird of the year trophy with prize money of £445.51.

Nicholson Brothers were next winning 4x1sts, 5x2nds, 3x3rds, 3x4ths & 3x5ths Carentan cup and prize money of £136.86.

Next with 1x1st, 4x2nds, 1x3rd, 4x4ths & 7x5ths and prize money of £74.42 was Mr & Mrs Houldsworth.

Next came Farrar & Peters winning 4x1sts, 5x2nds, 4x3rds, 3x4ths & 5x5ths young bird of the year trophy and prize money of £63.00.

Ron Hall came next winning 2x1sts, 2x2nds, 2x3rds, 2x4ths & 4x5ths, Messac cup, Saintes cup, Three longest races average winner and prize money of £35.84.

Steve & Sue Redfern were next winning 1x1st, 2x2nds, 2x3rds, 2x4ths & 2x5ths with prize money of £32.36.

Next winning 1x1st, 2x2nds & 2x3rds and prize money of  £22.84 was Bob Ford.

Next was Pete Bevan winning 1x1st and prize money of £20.00.

S & H W Hall were next winning 1x3rd, 5x4ths & 2x5ths winning old bird average, combine average and prize money of £16.05.

Next with 1x2nd, 1x3rd & 1x4th and prize money of £14.17 was David Coote.

Roy Gregory & Son were next winning 2x3rds & 2x5ths and prize money of £9.38.

Steve Treece & Son were next winning 1x4th and prize money of £8.00.

Next with 2x4ths and prize money of £5.58 was Mick Frawley

Finally Paul & Lynda Todd winning 1x2nd and prize money of £4.00.

Next up to the table and I am sure it was a complete surprise for him was Scott Willis who throughout the season has gone round selling raffle tickets every week raising a considerable amount of money for both clubs. He was presented with the clubman of the year trophy, a photograph and we also had a whip round for him. (Thanks Scott).

Then it was the turn of the ladies. Kim, secretary's wife O.P.H.S and ladies race winner. Jenny, hard worker going round with the blackout every week. Liz, race secretary's wife. Linda, land lady of the club H.Q. General secretary's wife Julie. Our guest of honour's wife Ann. All were presented with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates.

After the presentation there was an excellent buffet to get stuck into and everyone had a good evening. I would like to thank the caterers for an excellent buffet and Keith Jordan for doing a wonderful job on presentation night. There was a young bird auction after the presentation which raised £226 thanks to the efforts of Steve Stone and his merry men. (Well done). Thanks to Colin Nicholson for donating two new trophies (Best old bird & Best young bird). Thanks again Scott for going round with the raffle I would just like to wish you all a happy and a successful new year.
